“One of the best meals ever in New Orleans.”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

We went for the first time to Le Foret with a table of 8 including a chef. The dinner, service and setting were awesome. Everything was delicious. Soft shell crab and sashimi tuna was great. Waiters were well informed and very helpful. Definitely a new favorite. We will be back soon.

“best night ever!”
Reviewed 21 May 2014

We just had the most fantastic dining experience! From the minute we were greeted at the front door to the minute we left Le Foret was perfect. We were told Le Foret is the top restaurant in New Orleans and it lived up to everything the Conceirge said. The food was fresh, delicious, perfectly proportioned, delightful to the palette and served beautifully at a perfect temperature. The ambience is like none other in a tastefully redone 1840 building with four floors which makes this an ideal spot for dinner parties, weddings and business events. The waiter knew all the wines and recommended a delicious red. The service was fabulous our evening was so enjoyable and the highlight was the attention we received from the staff. Our water glass was never empty! Ryan the manager has done a terrific job making sure Le Foret is a step above the rest of the restaurants in New Orleans. He took the time to show us around the amazing building....we will definitely plan our next party here.

“Good but not great”
Reviewed 20 May 2014

The food was splendid! The service "not so much." I had asked the concierge for a recommendation where a lone woman could have a very nice dinner. As it turned out the reservations were changed twice as three other conference attendees joined me.

While the server cheerfully brought separate checks (after the fact), he was not top notch. We ordered a larger dessert to share (macaroons) and a smaller one for two to share. He did not present well and did not bring dessert plates. Also, did not remember who ordered what entrée and was a little pushy in his attempt to "upsell."

As other reviewers have commented, it is noisy, but we could converse.

In conversations with others at the conference and some New Orleans locals, it appears that we had better service than is usually encountered.

“Disappointing”
Reviewed 19 May 2014 via mobile

This used to be a great restaurant but we heard the head of house left. It shows. Very poor service. Waiter didn't know the wines, food was slow, water was filled with salt (very odd). For a dinner that cost hundred of dollars this was not worth it. Food was good when we got it but not hot enough. Disappointing

“Good for a large group, very good food”
Reviewed 19 May 2014

Was there with a large group- we took over one of the large dining rooms upstairs. Definitely accommodating for a large group. Pre-dinner cocktails were on roof, which was charming. High ceiling make restaurant deafeningly noisy when everyone gets to talking. Charming old-style building - very New Orleans. Service was ok ( not the professionalism you are used to in high-end New Orleans restaurants) - seemed to be mostly students. Food was good but not outstanding.
