“Fais Do Do”
Reviewed 30 April 2014

Do not miss the Sunday Fais Do Do. You can go there for an hour or two and still get home early. Not only does this place have a great house band, it's walls are steeped in history. Professor Longhair Big Chief would be proud. Get there when it starts for some dance instruction. If your men don't dance they can hang on the sidelines and drink. There are plenty of men that want to dance and they aren't shy about it. They will come right up and ask you. Go for it. two stepin and waltz. What more do you need to know.

“Historic venue, best shows, especially late night after Jazz Fest”
Reviewed 24 April 2014

Tip's is a one of a kind establishment. A very special venue that gets great shows. The best shows are late night after jazz fest when various musicians are brought together that might not play together to create great new improv and jams in the spirit of jazz that Nola is known for.

“Great Venue!”
Reviewed 2 March 2014

Absolutely love this place. Last went during Jazzfest and had a blast. Sure it is a bit of a dive, but that is my favorite type of venue to see a show. A must do for music lovers.

“Great music but beware of crowded condition”
Reviewed 27 February 2014

I took my wife for our first trip to Tipitina's and we were very excited about the experience. Everything started great with the first band. We were upstairs and had a bird's eye view of stage and were very uncomforable. The place was crowded but not uncomfortable....UNTIL....the staff came upstairs and told us they were CLOSING the upstairs and forcing everyone to move downstairs for next band. Well, at that time, the "younger" crowd moved in and now the entire downstairs was a crowded mosh pit. It made no sense. My suggestion, if you are a couple out for a nice evening and want to relax and listen to music, then there are PLENTY of other choices in New Orleans than Tipitina's

“Night Crawling”
Reviewed 23 February 2014

Nothing fancy but a great place to catch live New Orleans music. No seating but you're there to dance anyway, right!? Huge props to the sound crew here. The acoustics of the place are excellent and the music sounds amazing anywhere in the room. First we heard a great trio called Beacoup Groove and then suffered through another warmup band that was AWFUL called Smoker's World. Nigel Hall was the headliner and he was great! Really loved the casual vibe of Tipitina's and will definitely go back next time I'm in NO.
