“Casual lunch”

Great seafood nachos and bloody marys! We were a little skeptical at first but waiter was very personable and checked on us often. Great for a quick bite and a cocktail.

“Great find!”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

A local recommended we try 801 Royal. This was our last night in New Orleans, a city where we have enjoyed amazing food over the course of many visits. The atmosphere at 801 is not your typical "dark" French Quarter atmosphere. It has a more modern "clean" vibe yet retains an authentic feel in keeping with the local historic surroundings. Actually quite a refreshing find! The decor is great in both the restaurant and bar area with an open concept. The service and food were both exceptional. We shared a great catfish dinner, lightly dusted and fried but not heavy accompanied by a house remoulade sauce. It included a scrumptious crawfish bite (a crawfish hush puppy), coleslaw and potato salad sides. We also shared a very welcome grilled shrimp Caesar salad, a welcome lighter fare change after the heavier meals enjoyed this trip and will definitely be back on a future visit.

“Good food, nothing special”
Reviewed 8 August 2014 via mobile

The food was really good! We had the French fry po-boy and the sausage sampler. Really can't say anything bad about this place it just didn't have anything that made it stand out.

“Solid ”
Reviewed 7 August 2014 via mobile

My wife and I ate here early one morning at the end of our trip. It was good and in an other city this place would be top of the list but New Orleans has tough competition. We got the roast beef po boys and they were very good. Great place to eat in the Quarter
