“Great time and value! Not sure about ecological impact”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

We had an awesome time on our morning swamp tour! The swamp was gorgeous and we saw lots of gators and wild pigs. They feed the gators from the boat, so the alligators really close and we got some amazing video and pictures. The bus was on time, the boat was fine and captain was knowledgeable -- he could identify the gators from a distance and they all had fun names (Broke Jaw Betty! Chubs!). The tour was long and we felt like it was a very good value.

Despite this great time, I do wonder what the ecological impact is of feeding gators marshmallows and hot dogs and having them come right up to the boats? The website has a short section about being eco-friendly, but this isn't addressed, and there were a lot of boats out.

I'd recommend this --it's a great time, beautiful, very interesting and unique -- but I do worry about the long term impacts.

“Awesome guided Tour”
Reviewed 26 July 2014 via mobile

This swamp tour was one of our most favourite tour so far. It is just amazing aeeing all the animals in there nature and not in the zoo. We have seen several Alligators, Racoons, different Birds and also a whole pig family. The guides are very friendly and the whole family enjoyed the tour really much. I can definitely recommend the tour. If you book online you get an additional discount.

“Incredible swamp tour”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

I'm from Louisiana and I have the privilege of getting to see our wetlands very consistently, however, after taking a Cajun encounter tour, I was able to experience the swamp in a whole new way. I extremely impressed with this tour from start to finish. They tour was on time, the captains were very knowledgeable and entertaining, and the scenery was beautiful. Most impressive was the wildlife, esp, the gators. The captains know this area well, and they know where the gators live. What's really cool, is when they find those huge 13-14 foot gators, they know how to work the boat so everyone can get up close to take amazing photos. If u are looking for a swamp tour experience, and looking to get some unforgettable pictures, I highly recommend Cajun encounters.

“The Night Swamp Tour is Great!”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

On our visit to New Orleans, my three teenage boys wanted to do a night swamp tour. I was hesitant about doing a night tour; however, now I'm so glad we did. The Cajun Encounters night swamp tour was a blast! Because the tour starts around 7:30, there is still plenty of daylight to see the swamp and then when it gets dark, all of the sounds of the swamp start and it is an amazing experience. Our tour guide was Captain Greg and he was great! He saw lots of gators on the tour, including a 12 ft gator. I highly recommend this tour, was one of our favorite activities of our trip.
