“Great hotel...but no restaurant !”
Reviewed 26 January 2014 via mobile

This hotel was wonderfully decorated and comfortable. It was close to Bourbon and Canal streets for easy access while for the most part being quiet. What astounded us was the lack of a restaurant. We understand that there are many places to eat nearby but if you a looking for a quiet no hassle place to rest and eat then a hotel eatery is ideal. We ended up some nights going over the road to the Hyatt !

Having stayed on previous trips to New Orleans in a historic boutique hotel and the Omni Royal Orleans (both nice but pricey options), I was very impressed with the Courtyard. The location was excellent - especially when you don't have access to a car. Easy to walk either into the Quarter, or take off across Canal. The decor was crisp and the facilities were clean. The Starbucks downstairs helped me get going in the morning. The room (a King Suite) was spacious and had more amenities than we had time to even enjoy. My only complaint is that the room was a little difficult to get to - had to weave thru narrow maze-like hallways - but that was a minor inconvenience. Would (and probably will) stay here again.

I wasn't sure what we would find so close to Bourbon street, but this Courtyard was great! Great rooms! Great service! and beautiful hotel! I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for something in NOLA!

Room Tip: The two bedroom on the 10th floor was great!

We stayed here 2 nights for an event at the newly renovated (amazing) Saenger Theatre and it was perfect. We were looking for someplace within walking distance of the theater and the French Quarter and this fit the bill perfectly. The hotel is literally around the corner from The Saenger, so a 2-3 minute walk is no big deal in almost any weather. It is just 2-3 block off Bourbon street, again, no problem whatever the weather.

The lobby is on the second floor, which is accessed by an elevator that is separate from the ones going up to the guest rooms. Some reviewers found this annoying, but we felt as though it was a judicious extra measure of security that keeps non-guests from wandering in off the streets.

We stayed in a king suite and have never been in a hotel room this big in New Orleans before. I read other reviews which complained about the sliding, barn style doors, but we actually really liked them. They slide very easily, but do make a bit of rumble, so could disturb a light sleeper. We did not find them a problem, at all. Overall, the room was very quiet and comfortable. The large, upscale mini-fridge, wet bar, 2 flat screen TV's, alarm clock with iPod docking station and ample outlets were nice amenities. We also had an in-room safe, though the staff told me these are not available in all rooms - just the king suites. They do, apparently have safe deposit boxes at the front desk, if needed.

As others have mentioned, there is no bathtub, but the shower is very roomy and the water pressure is perfect. The hotel was impeccably clean. We would have enjoyed having a bar in the lobby in which to hang out, but found a nice one just across the street at the Hyatt. The hotel does serve cocktails for a few hours in the evenings, though we missed that time frame both nights, so cannot really comment. The lobby area for the bistro/bar is stylish and pleasant with lots of tables/couches/booths with TV's. There are computers for guest use and a large touch screen TV with an interactive map of the city and weather information.

The valet parking is prompt and Jay was very pleasant. The charge of $38/day is steep, but your car is just across the street in a well lit garage. After we sent our car away, Jay told us there was self parking available for $20 in the same garage, so that might be worth investigating...

All in all, this was a very nice place to stay for any downtown or French quarter activities in New Orleans. It is not the most economical option, but we did not feel the price was excessive for the quality of the accommodations. We would definitely stay here again.

Dear Allforfun15fl,
Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel, we certainly appreciate the positive feedback. As you stated, most of our rooms have stand up showers however we do have a select amount of rooms with tubs for future reference. I agree with you, Jay is an exceptional valet attendant and I am happy to hear he was able to provide you a couple different valet options. Again, we certainly appreciate your feedback and we look forward to greeting you in the future.

This hotel is clean, modern and situated perfectly. The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful when it came to recommendations and accommodating needs. If you want a hotel close to the action on Bourbon Street, but a few steps away from all the nighttime noise, this is a good choice.

I would also say that the rooms were some of the best I've ever seen in a hotel. They were modern, clean and fun. Most have barn-style sliding doors to separate living spaces and bathrooms. Very cool!

We also held a business meeting for 18 people here in their conference room. The room was nice and the catering was done by the Ritz Carlton. The staff were so quiet that we would barely notice their presence when they cleared the room from meals and set out new spreads. Excellent experience!

Room Tip: You pay for a Courtyard by Marriot, but share many amenities with the Ritz Carlton sister hotel on t...

This hotel was a great choice! Don't let the road driving up fool you. This is a great location! Bourbon is only 2 blocks, Canal only one block, and Frenchman is only about 10 blocks away. I stayed in a double room, and absolutely loved it. It gives great privacy with its tradtional sliding doors that seperate each bed/tv room. The style is to die for with a mix of the classic Nola French Quarters and modern esthetics. The staff was very friendly and there are a couple of options when it comes to parking which are both valet. I strongly reccommend this property for your stay as it is cost effective and overall great!

Room Tip: I would probably say ask for a room with a view only because I really enjoy city skylines, regardles...

I typically stay in Marriott properties, but decided on this particular location due to the walking distance to the Saenger Theatre. Although it is on the Western edge of the Quarter, you are a block from Bourbon Street (far enough away to escape the noise). Most places are within short walking distance. And if Frenchmen Street is on your agenda (as it should be), it is an $8 cab ride and maybe 5 min away. The hotel lobby is on the 2nd floor. Bright, modern, and very cheery. I stayed in a King Suite which was roomy and clean. My room was very dark and I noticed some of the suites had a window that looked right onto the roof. Mine looked directly at the wall of another building and let in next to no light BUT that didn't bother me at all. Besides, most building are close to each other. Just know you aren't getting a cute balcony or cool view here. But again, fine with me. I didn't deal with the staff too much, but those that I did were very pleasant. I will definitely stay here again!

Dear Marcya23,

Thank you for highlighting some of the great features of our hotel, we certainly appreciate the feedback regarding our central location. I truly wish we are able to have views in all of our rooms, however it is challenging due to the historic nature of our building. We look forward to greeting you and your friends again in the future.
