This Best Western sits and faces Rampart. Considered the north edge of the French Quarter and across from Armstrong Park. We really liked that we were on the outskirts, but had the ability to walk in whenever we wanted. The room was dark and cozy, but not small. Just warm tones. Breakfast was nice, but simple. The standard fare really. The thing to note here is parking. That's gonna be an extra 30 a day plus tax. There isn't enough parking either, so you might have to double up and leave your keys at the desk. Could take a while to get out if you are buried in and want to leave. Honestly, if we return to New Orleans we will fly and walk everywhere. We pretty much did anyway. Our parking would have almost paid for one of us to fly!

The Landmark French Quarter is a lovely, unobtrusive hotel within walking distance of the highlights of the French Quarter, but far enough away to be quiet. Across the street is Armstrong Park, full of open space, sculptures, and history. While the hotel is an older building, it has been well cared for and they offer an excellent breakfast (included with your room).

We stayed two days on Nov. 17/18 and we were delighted with our accomodation. We had room 342 on the top floor with a garden view. The room was large with table and chairs and a king size bed. It was super clean and the room was equipped with a Coffee maker, fridge and in room safety box. You can access your floor with two elevators. One in front and one in the garden. The one next to our room could be heard when working, but no one used it at night, so we were never bothered with the noise. The garden area has a pool which was open but I did not use it because it was getting colder and rainy when we arrived. Also there are tables and benches where you can relax and have a drink. Very nice set up. The complimentary breakfast was great and the area was very clean and well maintained by the attendants. There is also a nice bar in the hotel wher you can get a Hurricane. At reception the staff was more than helpful and patient in giving us with all the information we needed. The location is great and more quiet than in the center of the French Quarter, but still everything was within a walking distance and we always felt safe. It was also very easy to walk to the downtown area (large hotels ans Casino) and the Mississippi River Walk. You do not need to rent a car. You can always take a double decker hop in hop off bus or the trolleys if you need to go a little further with no effort. There is a great little Cafe for take out or a quick lunch on Rampart St. a block away from the Hotel: ''Mister Gregory's'' You have to try the Onion Soup. A must. I was sad we could not extend our stay and I would definitely go back to this Hotel.

Stayed here for three nights, first time in new Orleans so I wanted to stay in the French Quarter.
The staff are very friendly, the breakfast in the morning is very good. The hotel is close to Bourbon street & the city of New Orleans in general. The only strike I have against the hotel is the noise on the street in front of the hotel where my room was . I asked reception about the noise and was told " ITS ONLY RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC " well rush hour traffic lasted the three days I was in the hotel.
I didn't say anything to reception because breakfast in the morning was good, which set me up for the day, I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to new Orleans but! ask for a room in the back of the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back of the hotel.

We got this room at the last minute for a Saints game so I was skeptical, especially since it was listed as a 3 star hotel. It was pricey ($300--because of game and the fact that everything in the area was booked) so I was also a little miffed that I was paying that much for a 3-star, but we were pleasantly surprised at the updated room with a very nice shower and very clean modern room. We would definitely stay there again. Just a short walk to Bourbon, but would not recommend walking it at night alone.

This hotel is well situated on the edge of the French Quarter of New Orleans opposite Armstrong park. It is about a 10 minute walk to Jackson Square and even less to Bourbon Street.

Hotel is clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The free breakfast can be busy in the morning. Rooms have free Wi-Fi.

Also local cafes and restaurants nearby all within 10-15 walk.
