Nice facility. However, noise from road construction, and Police/EMS sirens were most annoying. We were told Shuttle Service was suspended because of the congestion of Mardi Gras. This forced a walking safari to get to public transportation, as Taxies were nonexistent on the streets of this part of town. Entry into the lobby was via a set of three steps. No ramps, so the roll around luggage had to be carried or go bumpity bump up the steps. There are four elevators; but they are slow. Our trip from the 11th floor to the front desk took 15 minutes. Frequency of “going down” elevators was every five or six minutes. Each and every one was full! Finally we rode the elevator up three floors and started down stopping at each and every floor, confronting small crowds wanting to ride down. Room was nice; however, sliding door to outdoor balcony would not latch nor close completely. Sink and Tub drained slowly. Electric outlet at sink went dead. Coffee pot backup; mad a mess. Mess was only partially cleaned.

A refurbished Holiday Inn in the Central Business District, my stay was on the first night of Mardi Gra so both the hotel and New Orleans were pretty busy on a Saturday night. My room was on the 16th floor with a good view of downtown (the lower floors are the garage level so there's plenty of parking). My room was very clean had two Queen Anne Double beds, TV and a decent bathroom. Breakfast is served in the downstairs restaurant and is good quality. The hotel is around 12 blocks from the Amtrak Station, handy for the Super Dome and a short walk from Canal St and an easy walk to Bourbon St and the French Quarter. Despite negative publicity i felt perfectly safe walking around the area and walked back from the French Quarter at 2am with no problems. There is a free shuttle to the French Quarter and other points which runs hourly until 10pm which the hotel staff encourage guests to use. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

Overall a great experience and i wouldn't hesitate the use the hotel again in the future.

A Great location, and hotel property was exceptional. The Hotel rooms were very clean and comfortable with new furnishings. Everything with the rooms was top notch. Juanita was very obliging and courteous, helping out with any questions we had as to getting around and what to see, as was the rest of the staff. We travelled to the hotel by car and the parkade facility worked out very well, even with the construction going on the street in front. Shuttle bus worked well for us to get us to and from the French Quarter. It was even a short walk back from the French Quarter the one evening, we decided on doing so. We were pleased with the recommendation from the tourist information center on "I 10" coming in from Biloxi, MS.

The newly renovated rooms on the seventeenth floor were very nicely appointed. Found them to be very clean. The restaurant staff was very helpful and very friendly. Zonie and Javier were very accomodating even when we arrived late for luncheon service. The Front Desk personnel was also very welcoming and proved to be very helpful. The street in front of the hotel is under construction but staff were very good at making suggestions as to how get around the mess. We felt valued as customers and so the experience was a good one.

Room Tip: The king bed room was very spacious. We had a corner sofa which made it easy to entertain friends.

We were told that this hotel is within the area considered the safe zone in New Orleans (but just barely). It is a nice hotel but the area surrounding it is under a lot construction and repair. Based on the locals walking the street late night and early morning I would be careful going out alone, but in a group we had no problems. The hotel provided shuttle service to the French Quarter, The Riverwalk and even took us to the Cruise ship port. The hotel shuttle only runs on the hour and is limited to the hours the staff person works. We found that it was easier to walk a few blocks to the streetcar. For small fee you can ride the tolley all the way down Canal Street and along the Riverwalk and Moonwalk all day long. The streetcar runs frequently so we used it often. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The only disappointing thing was that we found very few restaurants nearby so we ate breakfast in the hotel each morning. It was just ok and the staff were a little grumpy. What's on the menu may not still be available and there was no chance of getting it. Oh well, the rest of the trip was very good. As I mentioned, we were leaving New Orleans on a cruise. We decided to arrive 3 days prior to the cruise to visit New Orleans. This was the best idea we could have done.

Had a group of 26 people stay for one night before a cruise. management was very nice to work with in making the arrangements. Rooms were very clean and nice. Restaurant was a little pricey but convenient. Within walking distance of the French Quarter, they have free shuttle service but it only runs every hour.
Over all had a nice stay and would recommend it for a pre-cruise stay.

Room Tip: Almost all rooms have balconies and all I saw were nice

This hotel is within walking distance of the French Quarter, restaurants and attractions including Street Car lines and the Super Done. We only ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant and found it to be very good with a reasonably priced menu. The hotel and restaurant staff were very cordial and service focused. There is a shuttle service to the area of the Casino, which is a short walk to the French Market, Jackson Square and St Louis Cathedral in the lower part of the French Quarter.

In the last year, the rooms and hallways have been upgraded, including flat screen TVs. There is ample parking but we did not use it as we arrived via a bus excursion to Mardi Gras.

The only possible drawback to the hotel for some was the poor sound proofing of the window glass, which could affect light sleepers. The crowds leaving Mardi Gras and the sirens of emergency vehicles occurred regularly during the night. Thus, the sleep quality was rated very good, if you visit during Mardi Gras.

Room Tip: The hotel rooms numbers are sequential so if you want to look out towards the French Quarter and the...
