After finding the hotel and admiring their antique flashing parking sign, our first impression was not a great one. Upon arriving we sat in our car on the street for nearly ten minutes before I got out to find out what the trouble was. In front of us were five completely empty cars sitting with their engines running. This hotel only has expensive (fee: $32.48) valet parking and the valets were milling around not doing much when I inquired as to the hold up. The one I spoke with said they needed to move the cars. He said something to another guy who was just standing around at the valet window and magically they got in the cars and started taking them upstairs to the parking. We waited just another couple minutes for them to get the cars out of the way so we could enter the parking area and get out.
Once inside, the lobby, we loved the four (I think it was 4) vignettes they have set up across from the MiLa Bar. They were very inviting and cozy (though we did not have time to partake). Check in was a breeze and the two ladies were very pleasant. Upon arriving at our room, we found it quite chilly! The temp was down to 68 degrees - but that was easily fixed. The bed was very comfortable, but their small pillows left much to be desired. The bathroom was very large with a nice walk-in shower. There was no problem with two of us using the sink & mirror at the same time. The side panel on the shower did leak at the bottom onto the floor, but it was not a huge issue. There was absolutely no view out our window. We were on the 14th floor and could not even see the street because the building next door was so close - all we could see was into their windows - so we just kept the sheers closed. Upon leaving, we had another round with the valet. It took them nearly fifteen minutes to retrieve our car! When it was finally coming down the one-car-wide ramp, there were two other cars headed up, which both had to reverse to let our car out. I'm not sure why there is so much standing around of the valets - they don't immediately move cars when someone gets out!
