“Poor Management and Noisy”
Reviewed 16 November 2013

Spent 2 nights in this hotel, Friday and Saturday 11/10/13. Both nights were noisy, on the Saturday night wholly unacceptable. There were groups of people shouting and banging on doors either side of our room, complained to them in person and to the front desk 3 times, however noise and banging continued until about 5am (room over occupied), with a 400 mile journey ahead. Asked to see the manager on checkout, not due in until 10. Have emailed and telephoned and not had a response. Shows the level of customer care. If you want a sleepless night them book in. My advice avoid like the plague.

Had a large group of family and friends in for a great party and several people stayed at the hotel. The party room had everything we needed - our room was comfy and clean, the staff from top to bottom were friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was perfect for the after party in the quarter. I would highly recommend this hotel for business and/our leisure - the location is as good as it gets plus it's clean and has a great staff.

I hate those surprise charges - no matter what you call them! Be up front and tell me what the room will cost, frankly the tiny room was so expensive ($250!) that another $10 on the rate would hot have mattered, but sneaking it in is just unjustified.

The positive side is that the service was excellent, from the front desk and the bell man especially, the room and hotel were clean, and the location was great too.

This would not be my first choice in the future because of the poor value, but it would do in a pinch.

Yes... Cruise ship cabins are bigger than the room I had on my most recent stay here, but really, it's NEW ORLEANS, You're in your room to sleep, shower, change clothes and take some headache pills!!
If you want a hotel that as a couple or a group you have to walk in single file into your hotel room, then this is it!!
Location wise, the hotel is perfect, a block from the noise of Bourbon/Carondelet Street & Canal. The St. Charles streetcar stop is just outside the lobby and perfect for that short trip to the Garden District or the zoo...
The staff was helpful and friendly and we saw them strictly enforce the No-Smoking rule!!
The room was definitely too small for a couple to be staying in for a weekend, but a solo traveler might do just fine. Bathroom is very tight, and water pressure in the shower should be looked at since well it out right SUCKS!! However, the bed was pretty comfy and the A/C totally worked in this place, I was numb in the morning!!
I'd stay here again if my room was free, or paid for by someone else... perfect for the business traveler since it's steps away from the downtown area.
Friends stayed in this hotel as well with us, and had a balcony on the second floor right above the streetcar stop - Heard noise all night long, and the balcony was bigger then the room itself.

Room Tip: bathroom is so small that you're knees hit the door, can't be sure how it would be handicap...

I stayed with a large group at this hotel for four nights. Staff was very friendly. Room was small but clean. Bed was wonderful. Hotel is with in walking distant to the French Quarters, CVS, Harrah's Casino and Shopping. This is a great hotel to stay in.

Room Tip: Request a high floor.

My husband and I stayed at this property for our good friends 50th birthday celebration that was held on the third floor in one of the banquet rooms. The banquet room was clean and roomy, the staff dropped by several times to ask if we needed anything. The General Manger herself stopped by to be certain that everything was in order and offered her assistance should we need it. The front desk called before 3:00 check in time and had our great, clean, quiet, room ready. Comfortable bed, big television, really nice amenities in the bathroom. You could not have asked for more.
If you meet housekeeping in the hall or elevator they wished you a good day in the friendly NOLA kind of way and genuinely made you feel like they were glad to have you as a guest.
The funky décor in the lobby was clean and inviting. The front desk chatted it up with us each time we came and went and made us feel like family. The location just a block from Bourbon was spot on! If you are looking for a really nice boutique hotel that is a good value, BOOK IT DANO!

The location of this hotel was perfect, I felt safe in this neighborhood. The room was simple and clean, the only thing that I didn't like about our room was we had no out side window. The staff was very nice and helpful with all of our questions. I would stay here again if I were to come back to new orleans
