We were very satisfied with this hotel. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful throughout our visit. We researched the hotel prior to staying so we knew it was going to be small and somewhat "dated" in certain areas, but that it really part of its charm. In talking with some of the wait staff and bartenders, we learned that many of the employees had been there 20+ years. Being small business owners ourselves, we found this to be a sign of a great owner who understood how to take care of good employees. We will most certainly stay here again...we felt safe and it was the perfect walking distance to many other attractions.

A 5 min. walk to the center of the Quarter. A laundromat 2 blocks away. Trolley tracks 1 block away and a good restaurant around the corner. The staff is friendly, helpful, and efficient. Sure it is older but so is the Quarter. There is a small but clean pool area with a good bar and place to eat adjoining. Secured parking, Wi-Fi, flat screen TV, clean rooms. You can find more modern hotels with larger bathrooms in New Orleans but you will not experience the French Quarter to the extent you will here. If you want shiny and new this is not your place. If you are willing to step back a bit this place will have you pleasantly surprised. We'll worth a look!!

I was a walk-in customer and the staff was great!! This was my first time in New Orleans and they were very helpful on where to go and what to do. The pool was warm and relaxing after a long walk. The rooms were nice and clean, but the WIFI didn't work so well from our room. Will definitely stay here again if I'm in the area.

We had a great stay here on our last visit to NOLA. Perfectly located at the back of the French Quarter - still close to Bourbon street if you want to do that scene but right around the corner from Marigny and Frenchmen street. The staff is so helpful and friendly and the quaint restaurant and bar are a good feature. Our room was spacious and well appointed. The hotel is old but clean and well maintained. There is a small pool in the courtyard which is a nice option for relaxing a few hours after a long day exploring this great city. In the heart of it, very near the French Market and tons of restaurants, bars, sights and shopping. We would definitely recommend this hotel and will be back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a small balcony overlooking the pool/courtyard.

Service from start to finish is fantastic .GREAT friendly and knowledgeable staff AND they serve Community Coffee - YUM! Beds are very comfy and we just loved the sounds of the old floors cracking! Great access from I-10, within walking distance to French Quarter, boutiques, Bourdon Street and Jackson Square. Breakfast and lunch was delicious. Pool was nice and quiet. Awesome place to stay!

Room Tip: Room 223 and 222 was pool side and had no street noise.

Because some of the best music in NOLA happens on Frenchmen Street in the Faubourg Marigny, Le Richelieu is the perfect place to stay. Just one block from Esplanade Avenue, which separates the Faubourg Marginy from the French Quarter, this hotel is also in a quieter area yet still in the middle of it all. A lovely pool makes it ideal for families with children (go see the sights in the morning; hang out poolside in the sweltering hot afternoons). An on-premise restaurant and bar has a wide screen tv, which allowed our group to watch the World Cup without squeezing into one room. (All bars in New Orleans prohibit anyone under 21, and few restaurants could be found with tv's that would allow us to watch the games with our children in tow.) All rooms have refrigerators, which allows the budget-conscious to shave some dining costs by eating the other half of that muffaletta sandwich you ordered from Central Grocery or breakfast in your room (get your food supplies at the Verti Marte on Royal). And, speaking of breakfast, whatever you do, skip the option offered by the hotel and head to Cafe Envie instead (one block away). We will definitely stay again at Le Richelieu.
