so the best things about this hotel is that it is so convenient! They have a Starbucks, a great Brennan restaurant, Borgne, and many bars. The place is also very high tech. Very self-explanatory. Overall, it's not the best in nola but if it's your returning weekend, it's worth a try. It's in walking distance to Canal Street but farther away than other hotels. (Also by a Jamba Juice)

I attended a conference at the Hyatt Regency and stayed at the property for 3-nights. The hotel has been updated recently and it is very clean and nicely decorated. The staff is extremely friendly (especially the concierge). The hotel itself is about a 15-20 minute walk from the French Quarter, but there are also many cabs readily available if you don't want to walk.

Attended a major conference at the New Orleans Hyatt. Lots of meetings, lunches, dinners, drinks with colleagues. In restaurants and with room service. The hotel is more than able to handle it, but when things go wrong, the real strength of the Hyatt organization takes over -- the staff. Among the most pleasant, professional, consistently reliable team of any of the large chain, large hotels I've been in. When my room safe refused to work, they cheerfully sent the engineer back until they got it right. And Security stopped by just to be sure things were ok. The front desk located my lost scarf in the lobby, held it until I returned from dinner and gave it to me with a big smile. The desk clerks were pleasant and efficient. And there are enough of them so there was never a wait. The wake up call was prompt. Room service was early. The hotel food was better than most and sometimes really good. The gym is clean and I always got a machine. My room was cleaned well and my small special requests were taken care of. It's a fast cab ride downtown, so all in all, this is a great place to stay.

Recently returned from the Hyatt for a work conference. The hotel is very nicely decorated, clean and has beautiful lobbies, bars, and conference areas. Nice workout room as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. You are definitely away from the action of the city and need to take a cab, trolley or streetcar to get to the French Quarter, Canal Street or the Warehouse district. That being said, it is only about a 10 minute cab ride from anything. If you are looking for a hotel near the Superdome, this is your place.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the Superdome side.

A modern hotel with good conference facilities and restaurants. It's right outside the trolley (tram) stop that runs through the centre of town a few minutes away. There's a major walk from the lobby, up 2 escalators, to even get to the elevators, that will take you to your room! The breakfast buffet is basic and I don't think worth the $20. There are alternatives within a short walk (or a long walk, if you include the distance from your room to the front door ;-). Rooms are quiet, clean and functional. A fridge with nothing in it. There's at least a 24 hour convenience store on site for all your Needs. It is adjacent to the Superdome for sports fans, but if you want to be in the midst of the action, there might be closer venues that looked nice.

I attended a conference at the New Orleans Hyatt on Loyola. The day we arrived many flights had been cancelled due to unusual snow and freezing weather. We decided to eat at the hotel restaurant and I don't know about you but I often shy away from hotel restaurants as I feel the food is just so. Nothing could have been further from the truth at this restaurant. Borgne is one of the famous chef John Besh's restaurants, the food was amazing and the staff as proud and as friendly as they could have been. That night we received a letter from the hotel advising us to stay indoors with an update on the weather. A very special touch may seem like a small thing however they didn't have to do that, they just did. The food at conference was great, as well as the staff which made me and my company look good to our clients, I was proud that my clients were treated so well. Last but not least, they have a concierge at their hotel by the name of Robert. So many little things he did above and beyond to insure our first trip to New Orleans was wonderfully memorable. He advised tours, restaurants, walks all of which were exactly what he said they would be. Robert really looked after us all the way through to our trip back to the airport. A true professional and a great representation of a wonderful hotel. Thank you. Jody Johnson

Room Tip: We had plenty of room for 3 people and they have refrigerators!

I lucked out by getting this hotel while booking my stay via Hotwire. I was in town to run another Rock n Roll marathon and needed a hotel that was walking distance from the race start line.

- Hotel lobby: Its obvious that this hotel is new or newly renovated as the lobby modern and is well decorated. In order to use the elevators, you need to place your room key under this scanner that will detect the floor of your room. The scanner will then tell you which elevator to take up to your room. This is a great feature once you get used to it. There are live jazz performances in one of the restaurants on Fri and Sat nights for those that are interested.

- Room: The room was pretty sizable and well decorated. The hotel provides toothpaste in addition to the standard soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion.

- Wifi: The hotel charges guests for wifi access. However, there are several restaurants inside the hotel, including Starbucks, that offer complimentary wifi access. I brought my own wireless hotspot which received great signal strength even though I was on the 10th floor.

- Location: The Hyatt is located right behind the Saint's football stadium and is walking distance from downtown and the French Quarter. Depending on the weather, you could elect to take a cab to Burbon St for about $7.

- Restaurants: The two restaurants in the hotel are pretty upscale. I had a post-marathon meal at Vitascope Hall. Their bread pudding was good. You can also watch a sporting event on one of the many tvs on the wall.

- Valet: Hmm... where do I start. If you need to get somewhere quickly, I suggest you call down to the valet desk, from your room, and tell them that you need your car brought out front. Then sit down and relax for 15 min or grab some Starbucks on the way down to the lobby. You will pay $40 for overnight valet or $27 for self-park. There is no free parking.

Overall: I will definitely stay here again when I am back in NOLA.
