“Terrific spot!”
Reviewed 1 June 2013

We walked up and down this street multiple times a day, every day we were there. Great shops, bars and restaurants of all kinds! Definitely visit this street.

“Something for everyone!”
Reviewed 29 January 2013

Running parallel to our bed & breakfast and just steps away from the French Quarters, Chartres Street is just one of many in the area that offer an abundance of music, savory dishes, a feast for the eyes and memories of a lifetime!

“Walk up and down and up and down again”
Reviewed 14 November 2012

There are so many interesting shops on this street-- a paper shop that has been in the same family for 6 generations, for example. Lovely restaurants, show shops, a used book store. An alternative walk to going on Bourbon Street which is really a howl in the ear.

“Not as congested as Bourbon St”

Nice street to take a stroll..A bit different than Bourbon St. All streets are different at different times of the day.

“Galleries and shops galore....”
Reviewed 4 September 2012

After you've made your way up Royal Street, head a block over and come down Chartres St....gallery hop...see the sights...listen to music around Jackson Square...and work your way back to Canal.
