I visited New Orleans with two friends during my Spring Break to dine and shop! We were there March 19th through March 22nd, 2013. We chose Homewood Suites for the fact that it offered a two bedroom, two bathroom suite with a sitting area and kitchenette in the middle. It was the perfect set-up for us and conveniently located, if you are capable of walking for reasonable distances. We were dining out each evening, but a light dinner is served complimentary by the hotel, as well as a very nice breakfast. We walked 4 blocks to the fabulous Roosevelt Hotel the first afternoon, for cocktails in the historic Sazarak Bar. The French Quarter is just across Canal from there, so it was easy to get to some of our shopping and dining locations. Parking is $22 per day, but is conveniently located right next to the hotel. It was simple to drive to our other restaurants in the Garden and Warehouse Districts.
Our Concierge, Kylie, was very friendly and helpful, as was Jonnie, at the desk. The hotel has easy access to the interstate for arrival and departure. We would stay there again!

Room Tip: We had a corner suite on the 8th floor...Room 800. We loved the view of two directions....could see...

We visited New Orleans from Feb 19 to Feb 22, family of four with the children aged 16 and 11. We were looking for a well rated hotel with indoor swimming pool and this perfectly matched our requirements. We paid $ 275 a night for a queen bed suite.

The location is very good. About two blocks from the Saint Charles street Streetcar, and about half a mile from the French Quarter. Very safe area.

We were wowed at check-in by the simple fact that they gave us a room on arrival at 10 AM, even though the official check-in time is 3 PM and no extra charge. Really helpful front desk.

The suite was big, clean and airy. It has a fully equipped kitchen. The free wi-fi worked fine. The concierge was very helpful and helped us book a trip to Laura's plantation.

The use of the business center including printer use is free and was helpful for printing the boarding g passes for our return trip. The swimming pool was clean, water was warm and they had plenty of pool towels. There is no lifeguard on duty.

We enjoyed the complimentary breakfas, which had a mixture of cold and hot dishes.

We enjoyed our stay here.

We are so glad we choose to stay here. All of the positive reviews here on tripadvisor were true for us. Everything the hotel website advertised was available to us. If the world could be perfect for the price there would have been a chair in the bathroom at the dressing table and the A/C unit in our suite was silent.

Room Tip: Corner suite is large and sunny.

First time at a Homewwod Suites location, wasn't sure what to expect. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left 7 days later we were impressed with this hotel. We had a 2 BDRM suite on the 10th floor and found the unit to be in good condition with very comfortable beds. We called down with a small issue and it was resolved very quickly. The location is great for walking or catching public transit within 2 blocks. There is a large grocery store 2 blocks away for any food/beverage needs. Breakfast and the reception at night were more than most hotels offer and the food was very tasty. The staff was always friendly and helpful. We had a blast during our stay in New Orleans and this location made it that much more enjoyable.

I chose this hotel for it's location. We wanted to be able to walk to Bourban street and the rest of the French Quarter or catch the trolley. This was great for both of those methods of transportation. We could make the easy walk to Canal and catch the trolley to the Garden District or to the Riverwalk. Friendly staff at the front desk and a special Thanks to Johnny for working with us on several rooms and keeping it all straight. Thanks to Kylie, Concierge for finding tours and arranging transportation to our cruise. Our room was a two bedroom and very nice the regular suites were nice amd all came at a reasonable price. The hotel meals were fine, but we really enjoyed the New Orleans restaurants. This was an excellent place to stay with a large group of people.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony.

Front desk clerk would not check us in with a family of 4, and was determined to check a 20-30 person tennis team in first at 10:30pm at night with no manager present to handle the overload. We were able to check in when the tennis team coach said it was Ok to go ahead of them. Then we had to listen to a garbage truck horn blaring below us in the middle of the night and early morning. Beware of the parking situation which was a disaster since they use the lot as a valet parking lot during the day. Can't just get in and leave. The rate was great but I would have paid more if I had known it was going to be so difficult.

Dear travelgirl021968,
Thank you for your review of your past stay at our hotel. We always appreciate hearing from our guests, including when comments help identify ways we can improve. I can assure you that it is very rare for us to have such delayed check-ins; however, I can very much empathize with your frustration and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. In addition, I apologize if your rest was interrupted by the garbage truck. Your feedback is incredibly important to us and I can assure you that your comments will be taken into consideration.
