“Very good hotel”
Reviewed 6 April 2013

We had a great stay here. The hotel is in a great location. It's a few blocks from the French Quarter, but far enough to be quiet. The street is relatively well-lit, and I had no qualms about walking outside at night.
The lobby and room both had nice artwork, which is the theme of the hotel. The room itself was a little small, as was the bathroom. However, it was decorated elegantly. The bed was comfortable.
My only complaints: The hotel nickel and dimes you. Parking is $38 a day plus tips. That is ridiculous, and more than half of what I paid for the room! You can avoid this by paying to park at one of the parking lots down the street. They also charge for Wifi, which to me is also ridiculous. McDonalds and every bookstore can swing free wifi, but a top-of-the-line hotel can't?
Overall, a nice stay, the staff was nice and friendly. I would recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a window facing the street. Some rooms face the interior, which means anyone wal...

This hotel is a typical Marriott, kind of boring visually, but a really great location and quiet and good beds. Located in the central business district, but really located in the heart of the arts district. Two blocks to Emerils, 3 blocks to restaurants Herbsaint or Cochon, ten minute walk to WWII museum and museum of contemporary art, and two blocks from Julia which has most of the art galleries. Also a short walk to Harrahs. The rooms were modest in the Marriott mode, but clean, quiet and great comfortable bed. Bathroom is small--only one sink. Lobby is kind of weird, but has a health club and a roof top pool. The concierge was not very helpful, perhaps because we were trying to avoid the ordinary tourist attractions.

Room Tip: Courtyard rooms may be quieter, although rooms on side street were also quiet

No significant complaints here. Great stay. Seamless checkin & out. The valet was prompt considering they have to jog several blocks away to get the car. Pool is located on the rooftop and has amazing views. Aquarium is within walking distance. Be sure to check out the bar and ask Michael for his French Velvet.

I stayed here for 3 nights during the Football Season. At first, I was hesitant because of the reviews I read about New Orleans in general. However, I had a FAB time and the people are very nice. The hotel itself was nice, I had a stain on my room carpet but that was really the only complaint. The front desk seemed to be nice and helpful on the one occasion I did have to interact with them. The hotel lobby is picture perfect....I would recommend this hotel if you want to be away from the busy Bourbon street to avoid the noise and crowds but close enough to go when you are ready for some fun in the sun!! The area is nice and there were plenty of bars around....We did a lot of walking and not once did we feel harmed or unsafe. There is so much to do and see in New Orleans. Can't wait to go back to NOLA Had a blast :)

I stayed here at the beginning of March whilst in town for a conference. I can't fault the hotel or its location. It's well positioned to walk to the river, exhibition centre and French Quarter is only 10min stroll away. Check out a nearby restaurant "Cochon" for amazing food and "Lucy's Bar" right opposite – both worth checking out.

came here for a cruise stay at the Renaissance the night before sailing. Loved the staff they were all very nice and so helpful. And the art was fun to look at, I would stay here again looking forward to my next trip to New Orleans and spending more time there.

The Renaissance Arts Hotel is a beautiful hotel that is just far enough from the craziness, yet still close to everything. It is located very close to the Convention Center. The rooms are incredibly comfortable and relaxing. The "Arts" part of the hotel make it such a unique experience. This is my new go-to hotel while in New Orleans.
