“NOLA;s best kept secret”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

I almost don't want to share this one because when I go "home" I don't want it to be sold out. This is the best hotel in NOLA hands down! Before, after and during hurricane Katrina. Located in the Arts Warehouse district it is in the middle of all things NOLA......the waterfront/convention center is behind it a mere 2 block walk. The MBZ Superdome is about 2-3 blocks walk no need to drive to the game and pay for parking. And the beloved Bourbon street is 2-3 blocks up and 2-3 blocks over and you are IN IT!
While you are walking to Bourbon street and you see a line outside a brick building do yourseld a favor and get in it....Mother's restaurant is AWESOME! They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and sometimes have a line out the door. The bloody Mary's are not for the faint at heart....WOW
To the left of the hotel is Emeril's if it's booked at the concierge at the Renaissance to book you. I am not sure if I can say anything about Emeril's that hasn't been said before love the food and the sugar-coated muffins are to die for.
You will not be disappointed with this hotel I guarentee it!!

The Renaissance New Orleans Arts Hotel is centrally located just outside of the French Quarter (approximately an 8-10 minute walk) and smack in the middle of the warehouse/arts district. It's also within 8-10 minutes of some of the finest museums in the city (National World War II Museum) and other venues. During my last visit to New Orleans, we stayed right off Bourbon Street in the French Quarter. While this is seemingly an ideal location, Bourbon Street gets rowdy at night and if you're not out partying it up, restful sleep can be challenging - especially on weekends. Alternatively, the warehouse/arts district, where the Renaissance is located, is surrounded by cozy lounges, wine bars, and restaurants.

The rooms are well-appointed and stylish. Our King bed was comfortable, albeit a bit soft. The fitness center on the fifth floor is great and the outdoor rooftop pool, while a bit small, is amazing for a quick dip and affords some really nice views of the city.

On top of that, the hotel staff is very courteous and the food was quite decent.

The Renaissance Arts Hotel is located just a couple of blocks from the Convention Center and waterfront shops in New Orleans. The friendly staff takes Southern hospitality to a new level with their outstanding service. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The restaurant offers a number of area specialties including chicken gumbo and grilled oysters with caviar. The room rate is extremely reasonable given the property amenities and the proximity to a number of museums and shops.

Dear Patti,

We absolutely agree about our wonderful navigators- they truly go above and beyond for our guests! It's great to hear that you appreciated Palette, our new restaurant, which features many New Orleans specialties such as the charbroiled oysters. Our location is indeed perfect for exploring New Orleans, within steps of many of New Orleans best restaurants such as the James Bread award-winning Peche and famous Emeril's. It would be our pleasure to host you again on your next visit!

Our room was spacious and clean. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. It's a 10-15 minute walk to French quarter which was nice knowing it would be quiet and we'd be able to sleep. The area is nice with good restaurants and bars. Breakfast wasn't included in the room rate which was a shame.

If you are looking for a a quiet location away from the french quarter, this quiet friendly establishment is your spot. The rooftop pool area was a plus for the fireworks. The rooms on the outer perimeter give a great view of the neighborhood. The concierge level for breakfast was a delight. I have stay there 3 years in a row.

Stayed here a few weeks ago for a conference at the convention center. It was in a quite area and away from the loudness of Bourbon Street. The hotel is not as large as some of the massive ones I went to for functions for the conference. Those seems way too busy for me. It was great to come back to our mellow and clean hotel. All the front desk and bellmen staff were beyond helpful and friendly. The only negative experience was our server at breakfast on the only day we ate at the hotel. The service took forever and she was beyond slow. I would look elsewhere for breakfast unless we just got a bad server.

A modern, clean hotel with great service and in walking distance to the French Quarter, without the craziness of that neighborhood. I was greeted at check-in by a charming manager who also gave us great restaurant recommendations. The room was clean, with good drawer space, a real mini-refrigerator so that we could keep water and snacks cold, and a bright bathroom with decent water pressure. The rooftop pool looks more luxurious in the photos on the hotel website, but it was still a nice place to take a breather from sightseeing. This would be a great hotel for any type of visitor. I would definitely return.
