I love Stein's deli!!! When I lived in New Orleans, I can remmber as soon as the place opened up and how good it was from the very first time I ate there. After moving away several years ago, I couldn't wait to return to NOLA and eat at Stein's Deli. Just this week, that day came and sure enough the food was still outstanding. They make a fabulous deli sandwhich coupled with a warm New Orleans decor. Really enjoyed the food and the people there and will always come back for lunch when in town.

This is the only thing that slightly resembles a Jewish delicatessen in Orleans Parish. Dan Stein does a really good job at making this look and feel authentic including his New York personality even though he is from Philadelphia. (I know Dan so I can say that.) They've been open for a number of years now and do a great job with deli sandwiches as well as becoming a great little gourmet deli grocery store. Located on Magazine Street in the heart of great shopping and great food this place stands out. Anticipate long lines during the lunch rush as well as on the weekends. I think they do a great Rachel, Reuben, and Italian sandwich and overall think it's a great spot!!

It get's the 5 not because it's the best deli in American but it's probably the best deli in the state of Louisiana!

We had two of the best deli sandwiches here that we've ever had! They have a huge variety of meats and garnishes to choose from. Good luck making up your mind. If you enjoy deli foods, you won't want to miss Stein's on Magazine St. in New Orleans.

The Garden District is a lovely area of New Orleans. Stein's Deli isn't something you'd expect to find there but it's certainly worth a stop. It's organized chaos! Close quarters, a bit difficult to navigate inside but whatever you order - it's gonna be delicious! Reasonably priced for the more than generous sandwich you're going to enjoy.

This is a pretty cool establishment...no other place really like it in New Orleans. I had the Sam, which is basically a Pastrami Reuben...it was literally the best sandwich I've ever had. This is a place definitely worth visiting. A little pricey for sammies, but certainly not unreasonable. Downside: they are a bit rude/unfriendly/pretentious i.e., there's a general climate of unfriendliness towards those who are visiting for the first time e.g., you might be treated rudely if you say/do the wrong thing. So, although I didn't feel welcome, the food was great.
