The whole team was staying at the Loews during a conference in the nearby convention center, as it is only like a ten minute walk away. Reception was pretty fast on check in. Staff in general is super friendly - so no complains there. If one likes the style or not is a matter of taste. To me the interior seemed somewhat old fashioned. Rooms are all of a nice size and have either a kingsize ir two queensize beds, an easy chair and a desk. Huge closet with ironing board and safe are also there. The bathroom has an okay size. Unfortunately (but pretty much standard in the US) the shower was in the tub and the whole thing with a curtain. Room and bathroom were spotless. Some things that did bother me. A/C regulation was difficult. In one corner of the room (next to the armchair) was kind of a service pannel from which you heard a hissing sound at all times. That was irritating at times. Waterpressure in the shower was changing when somebody in the neighborhood used the toilet. But what was definitely a backdraft was the musty smell of old socks I had in my room. Could smell it in my colleagues rooms as well and would guess that it is coming from the A/C. The last morning a colleague and me had breakfast in the Cafe Adelaide (in the hotel). We were at first not in a hurry and told the waitress so. That resulted in a waiting time of around 40 minutes for some pancakes and a power breakfast with eggs, hash, bacon and toast. Guess she simply forgot us as others who came later were served earlier. She then said that every body was so much in a hurry this morning...but that is hardly an excuse. And when we finally got our order, my food was nearly cold. And it cost around 14 bucks.
In general I would also say that the prices they are charging are too high for what you get. On the plus side are definitely the location (10 min to convention center, 10 min to Burboun St if one wants to go there and a lot of nice cafes, bars and restaurants around)
