“Quarter House Resort in New Orleans”
Reviewed 22 October 2013 credit card Amex Cardmember Review

We stayed one week at the Quarter House on a timeshare exchange. The resort is situated in the French Quarter and within walking distance to many restaurants, shopping and other sites. Our 2-bedroom unit was rather small and sort of in a French decor. We enjoyed our stay there.

The Quarter House is located in the most convenient area of the "French Quarter" only a block from Canal Street and a short walk to the riverfront with dozens of great restaurants both pricy and economic well within ten minutes away. A car is not necessary when staying here, you can walk everywhere or take one of the three trolley lines at $1.25 or 40 cents for over 65's per trip.
The building is unique even though when you arrive at the front door it is less than impressive. Once you get in the resort consists of several heritage buildings which have been connected together around a central court. This court has a small pool and hot tub ( it really does not qualify as a swimming pool ) and it is in this area that the resort has food tastings and other events twice a week.
The suites are fantastic and not one is the same as another, we stayed in three different units, a RCI exchange in #201 ( 2 bedroom) and rental in #240A and #212 ( 1 bedroom delux). The design of each was turn of the century (1900's) and furnishings were in that style. Some areas were exposed original brick and wood beams, the whole area is comfortable and beautifuly done. The resort provides daily housekeeping which is convenient and not usual in many resorts. Some of the suites have washer/dryers, but there is a laundry on the ground floor with two free washer and dryers.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend the Quarter House to any vacationing adults, the "French Quarter" area is not one to be interesting or perhaps appropriate for young children.

Room Tip: Rooms looking on Chartres can be noisy at times when the clubs are exiting, the courtyard rooms are...

Stayed on 5th floor. Great room. New Orleans is not for the faint of heart. I saw other reviewers complaining about the local area, deal with it. At least this section. Friendly staff. Parking is a pain and cost $20 a day. Lots of construction outside so getting around was a pain.

Stayed four nights at the Quarter House on a recommendation from a friend. Everything was great. The location was just perfect and we had a 2-bedroom suite. Daily housekeeping, plenty of towels, very clean, and very secure. Much better than staying at a hotel and very quiet. Would love to stay there again. Mostly adults there but that may be due to the time of year. Yes there is a lot of road construction in the French Quarter, but that didn't slow us down. We're able to walk to everything without difficulty. Would definitely recommend the Quarter House.

Very charming Inn right in the middle of the Quarter. Perfect for getting around to all the sights and sounds the city has to offer. Stayed in a one bedroom on the 5th floor. Although very quite, it did not offer much natural light in the room. Did experince a couple litte mishaps....bed frame broke while we were sleeping at 5:30am which was not good. Did not partake in the onsite activities during the week as we were out having fun around the city...but could see they would be enjoyable if your around during that time of the day. A good choice resort in a safe location if you like to stay in the quarter.

Great location but lots of road construction in the area. As the other reviews note, close to everything. Great Sunday brunch. Other happy hour special through the week. I stayed in a 1BR. Nice size bedroom with small living room kitchen area. Daily cleaning. Parents stayed in a 2BR suite with nice sized rooms. Enjoyed time in the courtyard, warm pool and hot "hot tub"

We stayed in a nice one bedroom unit with a small kitchen and living room combo right in the heart of the French Quarters. Location was great. Walking distance to Bourbon Street, the French Market and Canal Street. Bus or trolley transportation is about a half a block away. This Hotel/Resort welcomed us with open arms supplying daily room service, free and paid tours as well as entertainment and a wine tasting..Good security throughout this center city hotel with a slight nuisance of a few critters. Forget renting a car;it costs $20.00 a day for parking and all areas are accessible by walking or public transportation. Buy a 3 day or week transportation pass that will serve all your needs. Its location is perfect all you have to do is enjoy.

Room Tip: ask as many questions as possible about your assigned room. This is a group of old French homes conv...
