“4 stars for the rooms, the 5th comes from the staff”
Reviewed 14 October 2013

Rooms are above average for a casino hotel. Great bathrooms. Big tubs. Separate shower stall. Extremely clean. TV's need an upgrade; that is my only complaint about the room.

But it was the service got the 5 star rating from me. First, when we got a page that the room was ready, and arrived to our room, the inspectress was still in the room. You would think that would be a bad thing, but she was extremely polite when we walked in, and I could tell she was worried that she hadn't adequately inspected the room prior to our arrival. In fact, she made it a point to ask us if there was a better time for her to come back and finish her inspection. To me, that says a lot about how she does her job. I wish I got her name, but she was inspecting rooms on the 11th floor on 10/13 around 4 PM She deserves an "at-a-boy" for turning a mistake (i.e. checking us in to a room that hadn't been inspected yet) into a positive first impression.

Also, Robert at the concierge desk. Wow. This guy is good. Super friendly. Goes above and beyond to help without making it seem like an effort. Seriously, I;m not going to get into the details, but I was impressed. He was wearing some sort service ribbon, and I see why he got it. I hope you guys know what you have with him.

Good job to all, I will definitely recommend this hotel to my associates on their next business trip and/or meeting to the Big Easy.

My favorite Harrahs named hotel is Lake Tahoe. New Orleans comes in a close second. The room might or might not have a view, ask for the river view. Many amenities; coffee, refrigerator, steps from great restaurants, short walk to trolley, and French Quarter. The room has the best linens of any hotel I have ever stayed. Small in size but very comfortable. WiFi is available, whether it is free depends on what level you are in Total Rewards. Valet is expensive, if you gamble or are a diamond player at the casino, park at the casino it is free, and very short walk across or under the street.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the river.

The room we had was very comfy, and was decorated in the New Orleans style. The mattress was top notch, and room is quiet. The casino is decorated very cool, take the time to look around even if you do not gamble. The machines are not the loosest but about average. Location to French Quarter and trolly cars is great. No pool.

The hotel is great with wonderful views - water or city. The people there are incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.
From the time you pull in, the valet and bell man are there to greet and help you, to the people at the font desk, who are friendly and efficient, to nice, comfortable rooms, to very helpful and knowledgeable concierges, it is a great hotel.
Try to get a corner suite, or at least a river view.
NEw Orleans needs at least 3 days to explore.
Try to get a higher floor so your view is not blocked.
To me this is one of the best hotels in NO. There is a casino located across the street, and you are right there by the French Quarter and water, so no cabs or car is necessary. Just walk so you don't miss anything.

Room Tip: No pool r spa, but you can use the facilities next store at the Lowe. Corner suite or high floor fac...

When checking in there is no clear sign where to go for the valet parking, though the employees where very nice. Sign in is like being in a line at the bank. No frills here. When we went to the room the key didn't work. It took 20 mins for someone to come open the door and by that time my husband went down to the desk and got another key. The Security guy was very nice and said sorry it took so long, he was on another floor doing the same thing for someone else. Key Problems. The room was King Deluxe, nice, bed comfortable, pillows lacking, bathroom, nothing fancy, standard. We were told the room faced the river, but really it faced the courtyard. AND what was the Train at 3AM! We stayed one night after an Event that was in town. We got a good rate from the event so if you look at it that way, it was great. Full price, not so much. Unless you take the trolley, the walk to the center of the Quarter is aways, make sure you have comfortable shoes.

Room Tip: Maybe rooms on the street side won't hear the train.

We stayed at Harrah's New Orleans on a recent visit. The room was nice, clean and comfortable. Large, well-appointed bathroom with separate shower. Good service from the staff all around. No complaints at all.

Where to begin! From our first arrival to our departure the service and friendliness was unbelievable. We have been coming to New Orleans since before they had gaming. We LOVE NO.
At Harrah's our experience was so enhanced by the Great customer service and the friendly people that work at the hotel.
I just feel compelled to recognize these folks. Upon our arrival, Chelsey Davis at the front desk was wonderful and so easy to work with, assisting with whatever needs and concerns we had.
The Buffet director Walter was also amazing, being friendly and caring and took such an interest in our personnel needs and that we were totally satisfied.
When we were checking out, Mell Eenes and Kionna Kinard were right there to make sure we very happy with our stay and getting our transportation handled in a prompt and courteous manner, just floored me with their outstanding service.
Brad Weissman spent time with us out of his busy schedule to thank us for coming to Harrah's and would be looking forward for our return.
Brenda Stamper the VIP Host was so gracious and helpful with our overall checkout , just a total experience at Harrah's that I would recommend to anyone that might be thinking about wanting a wonderful vacation experience.

Respectfully submitted,
Richard G. Deary Jr.
