I had a complimentary stay at Harrah's from my Total Rewards casino points. With one major qualifier, it is an excellent hotel.

Staff and concierge are friendly and super attentive. Rooms are nice and beds are comfortable. It is near the river walk, near a trolley stop, a 10 minute walk or so from the French Quarter, and across the street from a large casino with multiple restaurants.

Why does it only get 4 stars from me? No pool or hot tub. You have "access" (paid) to one at another hotel, several blocks away, very inconvenient. Other than Ruth's Chris Steak House, there are no restaurants on property so you have to walk somewhere for breakfast if you don't want room service.

Nevertheless, it is clean, comfortable, and well- situated for most attractions and I would stay there again.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice, good size, clean rooms. We walked to the WWII museum (a must see), Jackson Park, Bourbon St., Mother's restaurant, Emerils, Gordon Biersch and Café du Monde. Didn't win at the casino but had a lot of fun trying.

I was very surprised by Harrah's. It has a good size casino but there is more going on then just gambling. They have themed areas with N'awlins style. They have a good buffet that has a lot of NOLA food. There is also a club/bar that is neat. It was better than I've seen from a lot of local casinos.

We just returned from our first trip to New Orleans. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Harrah's. Everyone was very friendly and was eager to make sure we were taken care of in a timely manner. Our room was spotless and we had a wonderful view of the Mississippi River. The bathroom is large with a tub and seperate shower. Harrah's has nice restaurants within walking distance as well as right there in the hotel.

I was so disappointed in this hotel. The price was high but the quality was not. The carpet was stained, the furniture scratched, the pillows lumpy, the lighting in the bathroom poor, and the toilet paper scratchy.

The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. They always greet you coming or going. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Separate showers and baths are nice. Marble floors are immaculate. Beds are soft with plenty of pillows. The temperature controls were easy to use. Safe in room was handy. I could hear the loud neighbors in the connecting room, but they were quiet before midnight (it is New Orleans after all) I felt totally safe traveling alone.

The property is poor, there are better places to stay in New Orleans that work out cheaper and are actually closer. There were a large number of stains throughout the room and on the carpets leading up to the room. My initial reservation was changed and had to deal with the hassle of getting it all squared away. I have been here before, but it's declining fast.
