“Fantastic place to stay”
Reviewed 11 July 2014

Stayed here this year as part of my first trip to New Orleans for Jazz Fest and was not disappointed a bit! Lynn and Matt have great place and treat their guests very well. The 24/7 breakfast is perfect after staggering in from a night on the town.

The Marigny neighborhood in spring was fantastic as well. From the time I arrived I was greeted by the sweet smell of flowers in bloom - not at all reminiscent of "inner city life."

If you're looking for a place to stay near popular attractions, his place is it. Frenchmen Street is just 2 blocks away and The French Quarter is only 3 blocks away.

I will certainly stay again next year!! Laisser le bon temps rouler.

We really enjoyed our stay at the CCGH. Matt was unavailable that weekend, but Lynn was extremely friendly and accommodating. We stayed in Room 1 and the bathroom was bigger than any hotel we've ever stayed in! Plus, it had nice water pressure :) The bedroom was a nice size too and came with a mini fridge, a desk, and a dresser with a TV and a CD player on it. Our only complaint is that the bed was much too firm for our taste. The kitchenette in the common area was fully stocked and available 24/7. Some of the little extras available were: umbrellas for daily use, wi-fi (no connection issues), LOTS of towels, big pillows, a USB charging port in the bedroom and maps gallore!

We utilized the off-street parking (which was awesome) and almost everything we wanted was within walking distance. The street was quiet, but close enough to the action that we didn't feel left out. Even though we saw Lynn everyday, this is more of a "hands-off" B&B and was just our style.

Room Tip: The room was pretty quiet, but the bed was really firm. A mattress topper would be a great touch.

Set apart from the noise and congestion of the French Quarter but only two blocks from Frenchman's Street, this B&B is situated perfectly. After a last minute decision to get away from the cold of New York, we were able to catch a room at this splendid B&B. Although the Breakfast was not like the usual B&B experience, there was a well stocked kitchen area and you could come and go with it as you wanted. Besides, Cafe du Monde is close by, not to mention the Cake Cafe. Breakfast in New Orleans is a no-brainer. Best of all, this is a garden spot for those who like their plants green and well fed, cool and sheltering. Hidden behind this guest house is an amazing garden oasis, loaded with privacy for those who would rather just sit in the moonlight and hear the distant sounds of bands on Frenchman's. The many garden fountains do a lot to calm the soul. Fantastic place for Faubourg Marigny.

This guest house is run with great generosity of spirit. More towels and toiletries than you could possibly need and an enormous range of juices, breads, cereals etc for breakfast. When we arrived for Mardi Gras our bed was festooned with Mardi Gras beads and and the definitive Mardi Gras guide was provided for every room. The bedroom and common sitting room were very comfortable. The rooms are not sound proof and you might have a problem if other guests were noisy but during our visit all the other guests were quiet and charming. The Marigny Bywater area is full of attractive cafes, restaurants and clubs and includes Frenchman Street which is particularly good for music and food.

I cannot think of a better place to stay in New Orleans and we will return but the arrangements were not entirely perfect. As requested we had advised the owners of our arrival time. In practice, we arrived on-time, in pouring rain, on a freezing cold day, with one small umbrella, to find no one to meet us and a note asking us to phone one of the owners. Our UK mobile didn't work and we had to wait for a passer-by who kindly agreed to call the number on our behalf. By the time the owner arrived we and our cases were soaked and frozen. If you decide to stay here make better arrangements to be met on arrival. We also arrived to find that the WiFi wasn't working which was a huge inconvenience. It later worked intermittently for our first 24 hours and then was fine.

As a denizen of the Faubourg Marigny, I have stayed at several of the B&Bs there. The Crescent City is right at the top of comfort, quietude and value. The rooms are not only beautifully decorated, but have many extra appointments and amenities. The location is nearly ideal for tourists wanting to be near, but not too close, to Frenchmen street, and there is a neighborhood watering hole just across the street. The set-up is four bedroom suites around a large common area, which makes it ideal for affinity groups. The garden has two small sitting areas with water features. One of the great neighborhood B&Bs

This place is cozy and located in the artsy neighborhood of Fauborg-Marigny. It's just 2 blocks away from Frenchman St (which has a lot of good jazz clubs) and a short distance from the French Market and Bourbon St. The owners, Matt and Lynn, are awesome. The fridge was always stocked (help yourself) and I was even asked if I had any requests before they went grocery shopping! The bedrooms were cute and well-appointed. My husband and I walked everywhere (we just enjoy walking and learning more about the neighborhood) but if you aren't like us, there is a trolley stop at the French Market which can take you into the French Quarter and beyond. The neighborhood was fine (I've read some other reviews about it being sketchy) and we never witnessed any suspicious activity or felt threatened or unsafe in any way (and we were out until 2, 3 in the morning). This place felt like a home away from home and if I visit New Orleans again next year, I'd stay here again.

Booked 3 of the 4 rooms with a group of friends for a wedding weekend and am so glad we did! I admit I was hesitant to be so far from the French quarter but it turned out to be a blessinh- t was the perfect location just 2 blocks from Frenchman st and in a very cute neighborhood and a real special street. Yes we did end up taking cabs more than i expected (to the other side of the quarter) but only at night and between the lot of us, they werent too expensive, The pictures don't really do this place justice, the rooms were all lovely and spacious (beds very clean and comfortable) and are serviced daily (fresh towels, bed made, everything looking neat and tidy). There are even things like sewing kits and bath salts and a huge tv in the room (if u wanted to watch) that made it that much more comfortable. Also the fridge was stocked with 5 or 6 different kinds of bagels, Phili cream cheese, fruit fruit fruit galore, a multitude of juices to choose from, and a fresh pot of coffee every morning plus big selection of tea as well. The lounge area was nice and comfy and lucky for us, the couple in the fourth room who we did not know was cool too. Great artwork and obviously a couple who is very proud of their awesome city. Also not sure if there was too much mention on here about the garden in the back but it is amazing!!! Monarch butterflies , frogs, lizards, birds, and veggies and plants galore! Plus several sitting areas and awesome outside garden art- totally inspiring! The owners were a lovely couple who we didn't see too often (they have their own accommodation in an attached house) but when we did they were always helpful, friendly, warm and also intelligent, interesting people to talk to! Some friends who grew up in Nola stopped by and were impressed with the place. Keep in mind all rooms share a commn area so if u only book one room, you have to hope the other people booking are respectful , etc but this place seems to attract the right kind of people! Loved it and would definitely stay again and recommend it to others.

Room Tip: Don't think u can go too wrong with room choices here
