“Fabulous staff and walking distance to French Quarter”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2011

Me and my girlfriends came in July for my birthday weekend. Because there were several rooms, the hotel did a great job of getting them all on the same floor, and even next door to each other.
They allowed us to bring up drinks and food to their rooftop pool! The pool itself is small, but the area up there is large, with tables and chairs. There was plenty of lighting and a great ambiance. We were able to play music and had a corner near the edge (with a great view looking down the street to the French Quarter.
The rooms were very large! 2 double beds, desk, chair and an overstuffed chair with ottoman and still plenty of room for people. The room had a microwave, mini fridge, sink, coffee maker. It was a great room for the value.
The staff was wonderful and helpful, as was the manager when there was a problem with the valet parking.
The parking was the one issue. The valets were rude and I would not recommend leaving my car in that garage as they are not owned or operated by Hilton. Hilton has much higher standards than that garage.
But like I said, the hotel itself was great! 3 blocks from Canal, less that 2 full blocks to the St. Charles trolley. It's a great location, nice large rooms, extremely friendly and professional staff.
Absolutely worth staying here!

Room Tip: The hotel website has specials during the summers if you stay 2 nights.

We visited for JazzFest 2011 with family. The Hilton Garden Inn FQ is in a really nice, convenient location. There are lots of good restaurants within walking distance and the shuttle to JazzFest is close by. The area was nice and clean and we always felt safe. We had a corner suite, which was really roomy. The customer service was excellent and the breakfasts were plentiful and tasty. As we plan on visiting New Orleans many times in the future, we will definitely want to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn French Quarter.

I had a wonderful weekend stay at this property!

Right from the start, I was greeted enthusiastically by the staff at the front desk and MOD Aaron eager to make my stay a memorable one.....and that it was!! Check in was smooth and friendly, the room comfortable and clean. Breakfast is fantastic with plenty to choose from and a very attentive chef (thank you Wright!). The staff is more than helpful here...so I find it odd that someone wrote something negative about them.

Oh yeah, to the person who wrote that the hotel's wi-fi gave their computer a virus (highly doubtful)...how about checking the sites you must have been trying to access, there's where your virus came from, not from the wi-fi (it's only the gateway to the net, not a source of computer viruses).

OK, so the pool ain't nothing to write home about...but I didn't come to New Orleans to swim in an olympic sized pool...Bourbon Street is right around the corner! And yes, parking can be a little pricey...but it is for ALL properties in this area. For business or for pleasure, this is a great spot to be in the centre of it all; c'mon down to the Big Easy and stay in comfort here!

We stayed here for 4 days and the front desk personnel were willing to receive a shipping package for us even though we checked out yesterday. There was even a printer in the business center which allowed us to print documents.
Location was fantastic. Close enough by foot to Bourbon Street but far enough to not get disturbed by the loud party-goers. The rooftop pool was amazing - beautiful view of CBD surrounded by historic architecture. The only bad thing was that the pool and gym closed at 10 pm.

Perfect location, close to everything but away from the noise. The accommodations are nice and the staff is wonderful!!!

The pool sounds great, although I was too busy this week to venture up there. The bed seemed really firm at first but I slept incredibly well every night.

We attended a convention and arrived before noon at the hotel. We were greeted by a friendly and enthusiastic front desk staff. We were able to get into our room early, and the front desk at check-in said they would send housekeeping to the room right away to remove the down comforter and feather pillows from the room. Housekeeping showed up at the room withine 10 minutes and had every thing replaced within a short amount of time. The view of the French Quarter and central business district from the rooftop pool was outstanding, especially at night.

We asked about where to find a light lunch and were given a great restaurant recommendation for lunch, a short walk from our hotel. We were able to get late check-out the day we had to move to another hotel. I just wish our whole stay had been at this hotel, as our second hotel experience was not as good.

The hotel is located just 2 blocks from Canal street and the cross street becomes Bourbon Street as it crosses into the French Quarter, so it's a great location too, close to but also away from the crowds and music that is Bourbon Street

We had some questions about shipping boxes home and the front desk staff was very accommodating about storing them until Monday when Fed-Ex was able to retrieve the boxes.

The hotel staff was always smiling, friendly and willing to do a little extra to take care of us. I noticed that they interacted with every guest the same way whenever I was in the lobby.

When traveling to New Orleans again, this hotel will be my first choice to stay.

Prepaid for 2 nights via Hotwire and was subsequently charged $103 by the hotel after I had checked out. It took a week to actually get someone on the phone who could fix the problem. I was bounced between front desk staff, accounting and the general managers answering machines. Mistake was finally corrected by GM Carla, but it still took her 2 additional days to call me back to inform me it was fixed.

The room was large and clean but unfortunately housekeeping never came after the first night and after calling and asking for housekeeping service or at least towels I was disappointed to find that this too was not done. After calling twice towels were brought to our room at 10PM.

Parking is outrageous, $26/day. Find another lot just a few blocks away to save $$$

Find another hotel for your NO stay!
