I booked this hotel on a business trip, usually I stay at the DoubleTree on Canal Street, but it was fully booked, so I gave HGI a try. Hotel was a very nice experience, lobby looks great, staff was wonderful, and the room was more than I expected for that rate. I will probably stay here again next time.

Staying at this hotel should not cost the customer money. A slight fee is one thing but when people coming to a seminar pay $9 and a customer staying at the hotel has to pay $31.36 for parking because it's $28 valet plus two taxes, that is outrageous. A/C didn't cool down enough the first night. Staff are nice enough. Nice hotel, just issues that could have been easily corrected and weren't.

This hotel was centrally located between the super dome and the convention center which was fantastic since we were here for a festival and spent a lot of time walking between the locations. The rooms were large and clean. We enjoyed our stay and spent limited time in the hotel as we were out exploring the city but there are a few opportunities to improve especially when handling large volumes of customers in town for big events:
Breakfast- I love that the hotel gave out breakfast coupons for free breakfast but the wait staff was overwhelmed and unapologetic for delays. I say this with the exception of Marlo, he waited on our table two of the three days we had breakfast in the restaurant and he did a GREAT job navigating the crowds and compensating for the lady in the grill who was confusing orders and giving attitude to the guests. The food was really good, I just needed to be flexible with eating dishes I did not order (including being served pork sausage when ordering turkey sausage- I don't eat pork!!).
On the day of check out the maid service was banging on the door before 9am. Especially during a big holiday weekend I would expect the cleaning service to start with rooms that have been confirmed empty (those who actually checked out) and allow guests on vacation to rest...check out is at 11!!!

Being a Hilton Honors Gold member, I chose this property to stay at using my reward points. The front desk was very accommodating with an early check-in, which was a nice surprise. The room was clean, and the decor seemed a bit dated as compared to other Hilton Garden Inns. However, the bathroom was great with good water pressure in the shower. Some issues with the cable TV (or satellite TV? it was storming at the time), but the wireless internet was decently fast. Front desk staff, both at check-in and check-out, were very outgoing and friendly (compared to the Renaissance down the street), and made great local dining suggestions. Also, this hotel is within walking distance of the French Quarter and Bourbon Street. Breakfast was complimentary (another surprise?), but was below average. The food service staff were outstanding.

Fairly typical Hilton. The staff was very helpful and courteous. Nice lobby area and sitting room/dining room. I didn't partake of the actual sit down breakfast, but they did always have a baked good of some kind available along with lemonade, tea and coffee. Hotel is not right int eh middle of the french quarter, but was only about 3 blocks away. it was all of a 5 min walk to Bourbon street, and about a 10 - 15 min walk to the boardwalk where you could grab a day tour, or get some begniet's from Cafe Du Monde. You are also right off Canal street so you can hop on the streetcar as well. It was more reasonably priced than other hotels directly in the French Quarter, and was also much quieter, which was a welcome relief when you're trying to sleep. The room was clean and everything worked. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was clean and roomy. We asked the Concierge to arrange a car back to the airport for us and it was done on time and without incident. There's a laundry room and a gym which was very convenient. I have no complaints. The only reason i have it 4 instead of 5 stars was because it was exactly what you'd expect from a Hilton, but there was nothing extraordinary about it. Nothing that really stood out. This was a very good hotel and well worth the stay.

My buddies and I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn over the weekend for a bachelor party. Here are some reasons why you should stay here

- VERY reasonable price compared to other nearby offering of similar quality
- Close to all major attractions (5 min walk to Bourbon St. & 10 mins to Harrah's)
- The free breakfast each day is actually very good. The custom omelets were delicious!
- The hotel and rooms are clean and look well maintained.
- Checking in and out was super easy

Things that could have been better:
- The valet could be more organized. It was easy dropping the car off, but it took forever to get our car back.
- This is surely not their fault but there is a lot of construction nearby, so you have to walk on the road at times to get around it when walking to and from the hotel.
- The pool on the roof is great and provides a great view of the city, however it didn't well kept so we didn't get it. Also, it was sort of small, but it could have still been fun if it was clean.
