It is a nice scenic stroll through a sculpture garden. takes a half hour or longer if you linger. it is right behind the art museum. Fantastic in good weather.

This beautiful gem provides a quiet, soul-filling counterbalance to the frenzied craziness of the French Quarter. Easily reached by riding the Canal St. streetcar and situated right between the Botanical Garden (another lovely spot) and Museum of Art (which I wished I had time to visit).

I love outdoor art, which is why this was one of our planned destinations. This was a fantastic sculpture garden (though quite small--can take less than an hour if you so choose). Among the many modern artists, some which were quite stunning, there was a Renoir, a Magritte, a Rodin, among others, It was fantastic.

Eclectic collection of traditional and modern pieces. A nice preview to NOMA. Opens an hour earlier than the museum. Pretty waterway for kayaking or even throwing a line in....

We arrived very hot and hungry and so started off with a late lunch in the wonderfully cool cafe. Then outside to the superb collection of sculptures set in the gardens. Rodin, Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, and, and, and. A delight in any exhibition but the gardens setting made it even more of an experience. Worth the hot and crowded trek on the streetcar.
