“New Orleans WWE”
Reviewed 17 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

Excellent 3 bedroom house............we arrived late on the Friday night and the area looked a bit run down but...........don`t be fooled by first impressions, this house is situated in a great location just a few mins walk to magazine with loads of bars, restaurants and a supermarket 10mins away, for breakfast i would highly recommend Slim Goodies on magazine,it can get very busy so go early ( between 9/9.30 ) food and service was excellent, there are to many food places to mention and the bulldog pub is a good local for a few beers.Taxi into canal st is about 14 dollars ( bourbon st and the french quarter are just off this st ) you can also walk up to St Charles Ave and get the tram into town ( 3 dollars for a day ticket ) this will take you into town in 10-15mins and you will see more of New Orleans ( 15 min walk from the house ) the tram lines are being updated and dont go all the way down Charles ave but you will pick them up quickly. To many good things to mention but do walk all the way down magazine st heading to town and you will see many restaurants and bars ......................go to Fritzels on Bourbon st for the Jazz its fantastic,,,,,,only down side on the house is the water pressure with the showers.....but hey your in New Orleans...... great sun trap in he back yard to have a few beers and relax..

“True New Orleans Style Home!”
Reviewed 28 November 2013 for a stay in November 2013

This shotgun house has high ceilings and is spacious! The weather was rainy and unseasonably cold, but the heater worked great. The long hallway was perfect for a toddler to run up and down. Good location and quick drive to most places. We felt like we were actually living in New Orleans. The owner and his manager were so kind and quick to answer any questions or concerns.

“Great rental, very home-like, but put your walking shoes on!”

Great rental if you are not afraid to walk, gives you a better feel of locals and life outside the very touristy French Quarter.
This house is great for a stay with extended family (3 bedrooms /2 baths), but does definitely not sleep more than 8 (it says 10 in the ad). The house is great roomy, and the open kitchen is equipped and large enough for all to sit together (if you order take-out from GUSTO pizza/salad/pasta - all delicious) or want to watch a movie in the living room.
Airport fare is $14.00 flat rate by cab /person.
Located in the Magazine / Garden District area, 5-10 min. walk from Magazine street where yo can catch Bus 11 to go either to the French Quarter (to Canal street about 15 min) or in the opposite direction to Audubon Park (10-15 min). If you have small kids or elder family members in your party, this can become a challenge (going back and forth to the bus stop several times a day can be tiring). At night the walk from the bus stop (Gen. Taylor) can be an issue as the side streets are not well paved or have no sidewalk at all.
You can take a cab for $10.00 from the restaurants (Magazine block 3000) that will drop you right in front of the house though!
Located close to Magazine (3900 block) and Gen. Taylor, stores around there are mostly cloth or furniture designers or antiques. However, you can easily find many restaurants, a supermarket (Breaux) and a pharmacy, if you walk up to the 3000 block on Magazine (eastwards 10-15 min walk) or talk bus 11 (less frequent at night). There you will find a great choice of restaurants (Salù is a favorite), bars with patio and a fabulous patisserie specialized in eclairs and gelato called SUCRÉ.
If you walk west towards Audubon Park, you will find great little restaurants (not as pricey) and La Boulangerie (a fabulous French bakery with the best espresso and baguette).
Recommended attractions: Le Monde Creole walking tour of the French Quarter.
NATCHEZ steam boat cruise (try the Sunday Brunch - best value:2hr cruise+ brunch buffet+live jazz band for $38/person)
The Aquarium (rainforest)
Stroll through the FQ on Sunday afternoon to see amazing musicians.
