“Thrill of a Lifetime.Bourbon Street New Orleans.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 October 2013

1992 Then ........Now just playing some Louis Armstong,so thought I would add another big one of My Lifetime Thrills. . We travelled down from Texas, was my Birthday Treat. Somewhere I had always wanted to go. John my son had planned this so eventful and amazing trip. Not sure what and where we going, We had lots of stopovers in amazing places, beautiful scenary and wondeful places to stay, eventually arrived in New Orleans, Mind blowing, Mardi Gras amazing and far more exciting and moving than I ever imagined. We actually stayed on Bourbon Street, so colourful and music coming from almost everywhere.Sampled the delights of magic tasting delicasies, Treats galore. Remember still the wonderful atmosphere, aromas, and excitement. The scene has stayed with me always....A big thrill was when the young dark skinned boys, dressed in Dinner suits, danced and danced right in front of where we were standing, Big smiles and happiness doing what they loved best.......A regular treat for tourists and anybody tha cared to watch........ Just loved New Orleans, Hot, Humid,Excitement and just thrilled to be there. Now looking back. we should have stayed up all night, for the fun of it... Can highly reccomend a wondeful experience and place to visit.........so much more....... Unforgetable. Writing this as I reflect more of the places I have been amazed to see.

“Beads?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 May 2013

Quite a few of the Rue Bourbon Bars have 2nd stories where you can get lower priced drinks. Now the question is do you buy yourself some beads to throw down to the tourists in the street?

“Entirely unique experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 May 2013

We were fortunate enough to be able to book a king room with Bourbon Street balcony at the Royal Sonesta Hotel. Ours was one of many on both sides of the street and adjacent to another balcony with a large group of revellers enjoying the passing parade and their drinks while supporting a flashing parade by throwing beads to compliant girls who would happily reveal their torsos in exchange. The throng that pass seemingly directionlessly back and forth is entirely eclectic and sometimes eccentric but always good viewing. Occasionally, a jazz group or individual performers will pass by. The balcony position enables you to be part of it and still be a little removed.
