We came in on Megabus and we were able to check in early. The pool pump was broken so we couldn`t swim but that`s ok because that`s not why we were there. Also, the lady that gave us our prearrival info (Wendy) explained everything before we arrived. I have seen other reviews about the place being run-down. Well yes the benches out front were broken and this place is as old as the rest of New Orleans but this place is amazing! An architectural delight! We stayed in the 2 bedroom loft and it is simply beautiful. There are two bathrooms, and the upstairs shower is not for tall people because it has a sharp roof/ceiling angle so the showerhead is low but the downstairs shower is fine. The pictures on the website simply do not do it justice. It is absolutely charming with the wooden staircases and the windows. The plants in the courtyard and out front were in bloom and lovely. Also, did I mention spotless? The place was so nice and clean. Nothing was out of place. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed to cook some meals and save a little cash. But, the location is great, too. We didn`t have to rent a car. We walked all around the French Quarter and took streetcars to everything else. It was safe and comfortable. We were able to walk around at night and back to our hotel since it is only one block from Bourbon Street. But it is so quiet! I can`t wait to go back!

Nice time share at the edge of the French Quarter! Lots of steps to the upstairs 2 bedroom unit but very nice! There was six of us and we used 2 bedrooms and 2 sofa beds and we were all comfortable. Love New Orleans!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for Jazzfest weekend and had a wonderful experience. I was a little concerned since the reviews here were old and after the hurricane; however, I was pleasantly surprised by the property. The location was perfect, right near Bourbon Street as well as a few steps from Frenchmen Street, and also was an easy walk to the Fairgrounds for Jazzfest (we're New Yorkers, so walking doesn't bother us at all and it was the best option because the cab lines are crazy!) The room was very clean and the bathroom had been updated. We were on the ground floor and facing the front of the building, but the bedroom was in the back so we really didn't hear much street noise and felt perfectly safe. The kitchen was small, but we really only needed the fridge. Housekeeping doesn't come every day, so if that's something that you must have, then a hotel is probably a better option for you. The price was also far less than anything else I could find in that area online, so it's an exceptional value. They do also have off-street parking for $18/day, which we felt was a good deal since we didn't have to worry about the car. Overall, if you're looking for a great location and a clean and safe place to sleep, this is a great spot. No, it's not a 5-star resort, but you're not going to find that for under $200/night anywhere.

I don't even know where to begin! It was supposed to sleep 4 - the pull out couch was old and unuseable as a bed. The other couple had to go somewhere else. The late checkin was bad - could have had the car towed because no instructions on where their parking lot was. NO EMERGENCY NIGHT ANSWERING SERVICE - just a voice mail. The mechanical main door locks are old and touchy. Didn't work all the time!!! Big difference between antiques and old junk furniture. Coartyard a mess and electrical boxes exposed. Garden hosein the door hall way the whole time and never used. Just lack of maintenance - some very simple. Didn't care about the dishwasher didn't work but the bathtup didn't drain well. Great size studio, loved the location and it was clean - just neglected. A real shame!

Room Tip: Stairs aren't too bad to the second floor.

We stayed here 1 week on RCI booking. Office hours are 8:00-8:00: when we arrived between 3-4 pm the office was closed and we had to use their instructions for a access to the room. From then on, we usually left the room about 9:30 and on only 3 days was the office open at that time. Attached find pictures of the condition, including the open wall of exposed electrical without protection, the filthy dishwasher (they charge you for dishes left unwashed), the broken bench as examples of their disinterest. One of the cleaning days, they didn't clean or give us fresh towels, so we asked and we still got none the next day; on the third day (after asking again) we received towels full of staining and debris: probably pay-back. When groups come home drunk at 4AM to use the small pool, the small courtyard amplifies their revelry and no one is on premises to keep things under control. They get one point for location.

Room Tip: The inside courtyard is very small, with a stone floor and hard 3 floor walls: everything echoes, an...

Dirty and gritty-location not the drinks! Bought my husband a tshirt. Packed but great strong drinks. Could spend all day here watching the street and drinking

We spent 3 nights at the Jean Lafitte House Oct. 11-14, 2013, while attending a wedding at the Kingsway House just across the street. We would definitely stay there again. The location was as good as it gets - we walked to the French Quarter several times a day & night. There are neighborhood grocery stores close by for essentials (Diet Coke). Other than no elevator (we stayed on 2nd floor and it was not a problem), we had everything we needed. Loved hearing the horses' hooves (carriage rides) clip-clopping down Esplanade. We sat on the balcony every night until after midnight. Our only suggestion to management was that they could use better quality chairs & tables on the balconies. Air-conditioning worked great. Third floor would probably be the quietest. Again, we were on 2nd floor and it was fine. Swimming pool is very small and we didn't use it - but then again, we didn't go to New Orleans to go swimming. You get the feeling of being part of a NOLA neighborhood instead of just staying in a hotel. For the money and location, this will be our new "go to" place whenever we travel to New Orleans.

Room Tip: 3rd floor would probably be the quietest, but the trade off is walking up two flights of stairs. We...
