“Delicious Vietnamese New Orleans Food!”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

My daughter and her family are regulars at Lilly's Cafe and treated like family when we entered the restaurant. Lilly is one energetic and hard working lady along with a friendly and professional staff. I loved the tasty soup broth and noodles and the portions just right. Not cheap with the condiments and lots of fresh vegetables cut into edible size easily handled. Very attentive and sincere. Closed sunday.

“Best Fusion Vietnamese food ever”
Reviewed 20 May 2014

This is again one of the reasons why i like TA and yelp, you find places like Lilly's Cafe, which you wouldn't otherwise have ever thought or looked at twice. Hard working owner/chef preparing mouth watering dishes. I couldn't name them but probably can eat most of them, Fusion because its not the normal fare you would come across at other Vietnamese restaurants or for that matter any of those general asian food joints (serving a pot-pourri of chinese/malaysian/thai/Vietnamese dishes).

Good and fresh take on the dishes you know and probably don't but tasty nevertheless. We came here for dinner, on the day we arrived in NOLA (was cheap and we wanted to experiment), loved the food so much that we came back again 2 days later and loved the place even more. Highly recommended, ask the chef/owner for recommendation you won't be disappointed.

Lilly we'll be back soon ...

“Thoroughly good Vietnamese food”
Reviewed 17 May 2014

Came here for the first time this week and I must say the "toppings" on each entrée is plentiful. By the time I finished eating my vermicelli beef bun entrée, I still had plenty of beef toppings leftover. My party also ordered the chicken pho and it was fresh and pretty good. This place has it's own vibe and flavor so if you're looking to try some different Vietnamese dishes, they offer them here. Service was also very good, but when you walk in the first time, you're not sure if you're suppose to go ahead and have a seat or wait (we just went in and took a seat). As for pricing, we spent a total of $19 on these 2 dishes so it wasn't too bad. Be advised parking is alittle hectic on the weekdays. Saturdays are ok if you come right when they open (between 11am to 12 pm). You can park right in front of their restaurant if they have space or you can park on the other side of the street...meter parking boxes are located about 10 feet down.

“As good as my husband's mom's kitchen”
Reviewed 10 May 2014 via mobile

My husband is Vietnamese and his mother is an amazing cook so we rarely go out for Vietnamese food - we are almost always disappointed. But after the hotel magazine mentioned a new crop of Vietnamese spots on New Orleans (and after a hard night out with the inevitable craving for comfort food), we decided to try this spot in the Garden District.

It was AMAZING. We both had the pho but everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked good. Super fresh and light, just like Vietnamese food should be. The owner came over to chat with us and was so sweet. Beware - they don't serve alcohol and they don't change the food to cater to Americans. But you don't want them too - the food is a destination in itself! Plus it's right by the Garden District for a nice stroll to see some lovely old buildings and flowers.

Don't miss it! Just as good as my mother-in-laws (even my husband said so - but we won't be telling her!).

“Some of Best Vietnamese Food!”
Reviewed 27 April 2014 via mobile

Having experienced some of New Orleans best cuisine again this year while visiting for Jazz Fest - Patois and Cochon - we were thrilled to discover Lily's via Yelp. The food is probably the best we've had in US - including in CA and VA, and she is a warm, lovely and sincere host. And a fraction of the cost of the "high end" restaurant experience here or elsewhere in US. Don't miss it.

Thank discriminator
