We were visiting with family and getting a chance to get more familiar with New Orleans. Our group is mostly a pastry and dessert type of crew (not me) so it was a real tread to finally sink my teeth into some of the food I'd been craving the entire trip!!
It's an old house, quaint and inviting. We went right at lunchtime and were greeted right away. Even though we were a group of 8 without a reservation we were sat at a large table in the back room within minutes. We got our menus and I saw just what I was hoping for: simple, fresh New Orleans comfort food. Jackpot!!
We had some classics among the group including shrimp Po' Boy, Red Beans and Rice with smoked sausage, and I had the Fried Pork Chop on a bed of white beans, rice and gravy (the daily special).
The food was fantastic, the service was great and the room was comfortable and the price/portion size was generous. I can't wait to go back.
