“Another great stay!!”
Reviewed 16 April 2012

Just got back from our trip to New Orleans and another great stay at the Country Inn & Suites. As always I cannot say enough about the friendliness of the staff. There is not an employee of the hotel that you come across that fails to give you a smile and a big hello. Rooms are clean. Breakfast is a little different every day and always fresh. Location is perfect walking distance from the French Quarter and many other sites. Great value. We have stayed many places before finding this hotel and now wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Thanks for posting the review! I am very proud of the staff - they are such an outgoing and eager group. We have definitely put a lot of effort into the breakfast. Even though its complimentary we want to make sure it is actually enjoyable and I think we have a mix of items that really does keep it fresh and delicious every day. Glad to know we are the go-to hotel for your trips now. Hopefully you get to come back to visit New Orleans (and the Country Inn) soon!

Recently stayed at the hotel for a business/leisure trip. Everything was almost perfect from the location, to the room, to the staff (especially the front desk and the bartender John!). Will definitely be returning back to this hotel when I visit NOLA next.

I say "almost perfect" because I believe the room could use better lighting and the bathroom a fan of some sort. Other than that, we had an incredible time.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms do not have outside windows. I thought it would be a problem at first, but sleepin...

Thank you for sharing! I definitely think this property is great for business travel. It is close enough to everything downtown to sneak in a little sightseeing or a great meal at one of New Orleans famous restaurants, but far enough to be quiet when its time to work. Also, all the major office buildings are just a few steps away. Hopefully your travels bring you back to the area soon, and be sure to let us know if you are being sent to New Orleans regularly!

Imagine being greeted by a welcoming staff, checking you in quickly and placing you in a quiet, quaint room, with a very comfy bed with perfect pillows, and the bath stocked with plump, fresh towels and all the amenities ones needs...and a tub large enough to soak away the miles you've driven or...walked:)
We were running hours late, exhausted after a long flight, all in the wee hours of the night...and we were hungry...so imagine our delight as we snacked on one of their yummy sugar cookies available at the front desk....
The next morning I arose to check out the courtyard and dine on a wonderfully cooked breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon with hash browns, great coffee and real milk...(the waffle, I had to prepare myself:), otherwise, it was quite the bonus, included in your room cost... Your day is perfect when you see that you're just a short walk to the lively French Quarter or just around the corner to a very frequented meat and three restaurant...I can honestly say, this was the best visit I've had in a hotel in New Orleans, and I've stayed at all the major players, even the Ritz...

Room Tip: Ask for a ground floor if you don't want to turn novel, intriguing corners and pull luggage up a...

Stayed here a week in mid April.

PROS:
Good location 2 blocks from the French Quarter and 6 blocks from the WWII museum.
Lowest price for a 2 room suite with such a good location.
Place is a remodeled warehouse and has character.
People are very nice.
Car valet has good/nice people (but can take 10 to 15 minutes to get car)
The pool (heated) and area around it is small but nicly done.
Cons:
The remodel didn't put a lot of effort into sound proofing the walls, can hear people next door.
Most of the rooms go up 4 stories over an attrium above the lobby/bar/breakfest area and the sound from there can be loud and it echos up to the rooms badly.
Many of the 2 room suite bedrooms are small with no windows.
The free breakfast in the morning is over crowded with inadequate seating.

Overall I would reccomend this hotel, but be aware of the drawbacks

Room Tip: Though there is an extra $5 fee request the rooms overlooking Magazine Street. The Bedrooms have win...

Great location, great value. The courtyard with its tiny pool is relaxing, the breakfast is good, and the rooms are very clean. Nice historic feel with all the exposed brick, too. I've stayed there several times and will return.

The hotel was friendly and organized. The bed was comfortable and the location very good. Took the #11 bus on Magazine to shop and eat places. Easy walk to streetcars and French Quarter.

The hotel itself is just on the other side of Canal Street near the French Quarter. It is a small walk to the French Quarter (good to know when you have small children). We stayed in a one bedroom suite. The room was large, clean and had big windows with a great view. While the pool is a little small, the setting is tranquil and relaxing. The staff was wonderful. Helpful, patient with the kids and knowledgeable. It was a great hotel experience.

The location is actually really great for families - although I know some people are skeptical about planning a family trip to New Orleans. Within about a 5-10 minute walk you can reach the Aquarium, Insectarium, and the Childrens Museum. You are also close enough to enjoy the history of the French Quarter, the DDAY Museum with older children or even a Saints game, but when its time to call it a day you can come back and rest easy without all the hustle of being right in the Quarter. Hopefully the entire family gets to make it back again soon.
