We loved it so much, we even asked for our same corner suite. The pool is like a large hot tub... always warm, but not large enough to swim. Towels are in the gym. Breakfast is still "meh". Entire place is still very clean, staff is fantastic. Bryan in the breakfast area is a very hard worker, and will do what he can to help. The closest streetcar is on St. Charles. WWII museum, and Mother's restaurant are closer than you think!

The hotel was wonderful. The room was nice, with comfy beds. The hotel staff were more than accommodating. It was nice to have a pool in the middle of the city. Checking in and out was fast. The hotel is within walking distance to lots of places. The car never needed to be moved from valet. Overall, the stay was great and we plan on staying here again this year. We recommend this hotel to anyone who wants the old New Orleans feel.

Glad to hear you had a great stay! We really do agree that the location offers the best of everything - modern amenities and classic charm, along with being right by the action without it following you home when its time to sleep.

The best endorsement we ever get is a guest saying they will be back soon! We look forward to your return!

I am staying in the hotel and writing this review. We have been travelling in USA for a month or so and stayed in few hotels. This little gem is one of the good ones. For the moderate price(Hotwire) you get a large room with a big King bed. Breakfast is included and a lot to choose. Clean and close to Canal street, we are loving our stay.

Room Tip: Room number 249 definetly.

Thanks for the feedback! We really appreciate the kind words (both while you were here, and the review). Our sales staff mentioned that you had told them we were among the best hotels you had stayed at for the entire trip you had taken. Thats quite the compliment - it made my day.

I know it was a long trip to get here, but hopefully you get to come back and visit again sometime!

This hotel has a superb location. Technically in the CBD, it's a short walk to the French Quarter without the craziness and the noise. It's an even shorter walk to the Charles St. streetcar, which can take you to the Garden District and Audubon Park. It's easy to get a good night's sleep after a full day of living it up.

The hotel is full of character, especially the lobby, as you can see from traveler's photos. Exposed brick and beams, comfortable seating, and a shaded courtyard pool provide areas for you to relax outside your room. Our room did not have any outwardly-facing windows, so there was only dim natural light from the atrium side. The upside is that it was extremely quiet. Our daylight hours were spent exploring the city, so this situation worked out well.

The staff was friendly—we generally found everyone in NOLA to be friendly. The free breakfast was above average, but give it a pass at least once and make sure you walk around the corner to Mother's for a true southern breakfast.

The hotel was overbooked on our first night, so we were moved to the Drury (currently #2 on TripAdvisor), which is around the corner. I was quite annoyed at first, but they made good by refunding that night and upgrading our room to a King Suite for the rest of our stay. They also paid for the cab ride to and from (though the tip was left to us). The Drury was comprable in a lot of ways (quality, service, etc.), but is a bit farther away from the French Quarter. If you're not a business traveller I would recommend the Country Inn & Suites.

We stayed here over Memorial weekend, 2013. This is a old converted warehouse brought up to date with the newest amenities. Our suite overlooked Magazine Street and was large, clean, with comfy beds. The decor reminded us of Old New Orleans with the brick walls, open beams, and exposed pipes. The city was packed for the weekend and it was great to go out among the crowds, walking to the French Quarter, the French Market, the Aquarium, the Mississippi, and to the trolleys along Canal and to the Garden District. But the best was returning to our QUIET suite with all the comforts of home. Loved the little bar tucked in a corner of the atrium. Daily breakfast was a plus, with the menu changing daily, but always with eggs, bacon or sausage, waffles, oatmeal, fruit and juices; with serving trays always filled.
The whole staff was wonderful, friendly, helpful in all ways.
We can't wait to return to the Country Inn and we highly recommend the hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms on upper floors with windows.

Glad to hear the weekend went great for you! The hotel really is the best of both world both on location and architecture. You are close enough to stroll to all the big events, but just far enough to have a quiet place to come back and relax. You also get all the old New Orleans charm, without sacrificing the amenities that you are used to having.

Thanks for taking the time to share all the positive feedback - We really appreciate the endorsement, and hope your travels bring you our way again soon.

The staff were very nice and madensure we were content. Free breakfast was very good as well as having so much varieties. One staff in particular always made my morning. He was so happy and always singing when helping with breakfast, very energetic young man. Checking in and out was fast and the pool was warm. The location is perfect since we are close enough to walk anywhere but far enough to sleep peacfully. Overall this hotel was a great choice.

This is a very nice hotel but to me what really makes it is the hotel staff. Each person we dealt with was so friendly, helpful and totally professional.Just passing in the hall way or on the elevator they always speak.I love the location, the quietness and hospitality.the hotel is in easy walking distance from the major attractions .W have stayed here 2 times and throughly enjoyed both times.

Room Tip: There some rooms that are a little smaller than others even though they have 2 queens.
