“wedding hotel”
Reviewed 11 June 2013

we used this hotel as our "wedding hotel" in April. I cannot say enough about how pleased we were with the experience - the sales staff were helpful and very responsive; the desk and food staff, friendly and helpful. It was great having the small meeting room on the first floor to get the bride/maids ready- no one's room was overcome with make-up and hair duties!! Everything was available as we had discussed in advance. The old New Orleans lobby was a terrific gathering spot and the after party in the breakfast area kept us from disturbing other guests. Hope to use this for my other 3 daughters' weddings.....

Room Tip: The suites were worth the upgrade for a wedding stay.

Thank you for the kind words, and congrats on the big day for your family! As much fun as weddings are, we know they can be stressful for the families too and the sales team (along with the entire staff) tries to do whatever they can to lighten the load. Its always great to hear that the efforts made a difference! Hopefully we can be of service any time you come to New Orleans! Thanks again for taking the time to share.

Went to NO for a 3 day weekend and stayed here. I had an outside corner room/suite overlooking the road intersection yet it was nice and quiet; slept wonderfully. The staff was pleasant and available and the bartender was an agreeable laid back kind of guy and made sure everyone felt at home. I've no complaints. I found we could walk everywhere from here, Bourbon Street, Frenchmen Street, even to Delmonico's rest. (a bit of a walk to that one but I like walking).

I stayed at this hotel in July 2012, and its location is central and within easy walking distance of major tourist attractions; eg., Bourbon Street, Riverwalk, the Casino/Deenie's Restaurant. Although it rained horrendously the entire length of my stay, my friend and I were still able to experience New Orleans. Both my friend and I are smokers, so we had a very large and comfortable smoking room with two queen-sized beds. The room was large enough that neither of us got in each other's way! I loved the brick-facing walls in the bedroom, and the bathroom was large and modern with great water pressure. I felt perfectly safe staying at this property and highly recommend it. The front-desk staff were very friendly, courteous and professional -- easily extended the "southern hospitality." It's really hard to believe that this hotel was formerly warehouses, but it exudes the warmth and charm of an historical building with character.

Granted, it doesn't come with the bells and whistles of the properties just around the corner, but I wouldn't trade its proximity from the center of New Orleans for anything! Its location is perfect, it's clean, safe and managed professionally. What more do you need? After all, you're not planning to "rent or buy" there!

At the time of my stay, there was a "free" breakfast each morning, but I wasn't impressed with it. The wait staff was amazing because a maze of guests materialized around 7:30 a.m. The food was mainly mainly fruit, cereal and microwavable foodstuff. The coffee was quite good, and you could find something that would deter the hunger pains until you ventured out.

So, all in all, I believe I got my money's worth at Country Inn & Suites New Orleans!

Thanks for taking the time to share! We normally don't see too many reviews where someone takes the time to post after a year! We will take it as a great sign that the experience stuck out even long after you left. The only thing I will note for those reading is that the hotel is actually 100% non-smoking currently, so please keep that in mind when booking.

Hopefully your travels bring you back to New Orleans soon!

The hotel was close enough to everything to walk to, and far enough away so as to not be in the thick of all the noise. Perfect!. The staff was friendly and eager to help, without that overbearing sense. They could sense when you wanted to be left alone, or when you needed something. The rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. They had black out shades on the windows, so you could sleep in without the sunlight pouring in. They maintained fresh cookies in the lobby, and the bar held a happy hour every evening. I also liked the atmosphere of the hotel in general. They fit the hotel into several old buildings, left the ambiance of the old, and improved tactfully with the modern. The breakfast that comes with the room was way above usual, it was a full hot and cold breakfast, with choices for diabetics too. One suggestion for improvement, hopefully they will get around to serving better coffee. Rates for the rooms reflected quality, which I don't mind paying for. Overall, great place to stay, should I find myself back in New Orleans, I would definitely stay here again.

We loved it so much, we even asked for our same corner suite. The pool is like a large hot tub... always warm, but not large enough to swim. Towels are in the gym. Breakfast is still "meh". Entire place is still very clean, staff is fantastic. Bryan in the breakfast area is a very hard worker, and will do what he can to help. The closest streetcar is on St. Charles. WWII museum, and Mother's restaurant are closer than you think!

The hotel was wonderful. The room was nice, with comfy beds. The hotel staff were more than accommodating. It was nice to have a pool in the middle of the city. Checking in and out was fast. The hotel is within walking distance to lots of places. The car never needed to be moved from valet. Overall, the stay was great and we plan on staying here again this year. We recommend this hotel to anyone who wants the old New Orleans feel.

Glad to hear you had a great stay! We really do agree that the location offers the best of everything - modern amenities and classic charm, along with being right by the action without it following you home when its time to sleep.

The best endorsement we ever get is a guest saying they will be back soon! We look forward to your return!

I am staying in the hotel and writing this review. We have been travelling in USA for a month or so and stayed in few hotels. This little gem is one of the good ones. For the moderate price(Hotwire) you get a large room with a big King bed. Breakfast is included and a lot to choose. Clean and close to Canal street, we are loving our stay.

Room Tip: Room number 249 definetly.

Thanks for the feedback! We really appreciate the kind words (both while you were here, and the review). Our sales staff mentioned that you had told them we were among the best hotels you had stayed at for the entire trip you had taken. Thats quite the compliment - it made my day.

I know it was a long trip to get here, but hopefully you get to come back and visit again sometime!
