My family and I stayed over the Thanksgiving break. We love the French Quarter and were seeking an afordable, great location. We found it at the Country Inn & Suites. Breakfast was wonderful and the rooms very adequate. Great time!!

Room Tip: We put three kids and two adults in one room. Just requested a roll -a-way bed.

I would recommend the Country Inn & Suites New Orleans French Quarter to anyone looking for a nice, clean, and friendly hotel in New Orleans. The staff is the friendliest I have ever come across in a hotel, and I travel a lot. Everything was clean and bright. The two little lobby areas look very nice and are very cozy for just sitting and relaxing or waiting for your ride (you can watch through the front windows of the hotel). Their breakfast was really nice and plentiful. Even the staff in there was wonderful and accommodating!
The only reason I did not give it a rating of 5 was just because if I were a traveler looking for the perfect hotel, I would consider location to be a top factor. Although this is in a nice location, it would have been perfect had it been a few blocks closer to the action. It was just outside of the action, which I'm sure many people would love. We did walk everywhere and it wasn't a problem, but I did wish it was a few blocks closer. Don't let that hold you back if you're looking for a nice hotel, though. I don't have a bad thing to say about this property!

We stayed here because of the high ratings on Trip Advisor & we were not disappointed. It is convenient to everything. We walked to the Convention Center and the French Quarter. The breakfast was a full hot buffet and varied slightly every day. There were cookies, milk & coffee available 24/7. The staff was accommodating in every way. Our bed and pillows were very comfortable, and by asking for a corner room, it was peaceful & quiet. I can't say enough about this unique hotel in New Orleans! The only disappointment we had was the $28 a day valet because we never used our car.

My husband and I were in NOLA for our honeymoon and after reading up on many different hotels, we decided on this hotel - for its location and not-so-modern look and feel of the hotel. Oh and of course the price. The location was definitely a huge plus for this hotel. Although, it seemed like a lot of the major hotels are near the French Quarter, we loved that the hotel was in walking distance from French Quarter but not too close so that we can be away from the noise and the lights.

The hotel is also very close to a few of the popular eating spots - (Mother's restaurant (3 min walk), Cochon (5-minute walk), Ruby slippers cafe (3 min walk) and more! The famous WWII museum is also about 15-20 min's walk from the hotel.

We were there for 10 days in Jan 2014 (just came back actually!). The staff were very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was very efficient. Towels and toiletries were refilled everyday. It is an old building and the room had high ceilings with wooden bars instead of a straight ceiling. Since we were there in the winter, it did make the room feel a bit cold and a little less cozy.

Their breakfast was very well done considering the price of the hotel. They had hot food which was awesome, along with your regular breakfast selection. They also provide fresh baked cookies at the front desk all day free for all to enjoy. They also have complimentary nachos and chex mix at the bar with salsa, complimentary coffee and tea - all day (except nachos are only available after 4pm). In the morning, instead of nachos, they have fresh fruit and granola bars and the bar - again complimentary. I just love little homey touches like that.

They have a small fitness room which we didn't really use. They also have a pool but obviously was not open in the winter. They have a small (very very small) store in the hotel for stuff like advil and microwavable food and snacks if you feel like snakcing at night.

One little minus was the restaurant - they don't really have one. They serve microwaved food at the bar and had no room service so on our first night when we were tired from all the traveling and delayed flights, our first meal was microwaved tater tots and frozen pizza, which we had to go fetch ourselves.

Overall though, I would recommend this hotel for sure!

my husband and i stayed at this hotel in June 2013 and our stay was excellent. We stayed for 4 nights and didn't have a single compliant. Hotel was very clean, the rooms were nice, there is a pool and they have a full free breakfast. Hotel was within walking distance to all three street car lines and within walking distance to bourbon street. The concierge was really helpful and got us to some of our favorite restaurants and activities. Would recommend this hotel to anyone and I can't wait to go back.

We stayed just one night as we were leaving next day on Carnival cruise. It was close to everything or at least within walking distance. I recommend using the transit system for an inexpensive way to get around. Hotel personnel were great and very friendly. Room was just fine, clean, neat.

Our first room was very noisy; it was located right beside the alleyway with the rubbish trucks doing their rounds every morning (and very early). I don't enjoy complaining but for our sanity we asked if we could possibly change rooms- it was no problem! We were moved to a gorgeous room overlooking the garden/pool area. It was a lovely view AND nice and quiet! Staff are very friendly and helpful (front desk, cleaners, security and doormen). It felt as if we were staying somewhere alot more expensive than what we had paid. Great location; out of the way but not too far. 10 min walk to Bourbon st & shops. There are all-day coffee and tea making facilities in the lobby/dining area with a great range which is fantastic if you want to grab something as you head out. There is everything you need in the rooms- microwave, tv, fridge and free wifi. All the rooms are looked after and are clean and and tidy. The beds were comfortable and clean. Small touches like a full tv printed listing and complimentary "Gooey" cookies at the front desk made it all the more pleasant. This is an excellent hotel and I can see how it was voted the best in 2013. Would definately stay here again!

Room Tip: Grab a room overlooking the pool/garden; quieter and visually appealing. Rooms at the rear of the ho...
