“Good value for money next to French Qtr and Warehouse District”
Reviewed 20 January 2014

Stayed at the Country Inn & Suites New Orleans for a long weekend with my husband. We chose the hotel based on previous trip advisor reviews and also because of the price (which was very good compared to other area hotels). The location of this hotel is perfect as it's within a 5 minute walk to the French Quarter and another 5-10 minute walk to the warehouse district. The lobby and common areas (including the pool area) are lovely and really showcase the building's historical designation. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. We opted to pay for early check-in (recommended if you are arriving prior to 2 pm) and also to upgrade to a King suite (not necessary and I wish I hadn't done it). We had a room on the 3rd floor and all the way to the end of the hallway. It was massive, but totally unnecessary for us. We also felt the room wasn't possibly the best available as there was a very strong smell of damp when we walked in and it was located across the street from a construction site, which was very noisy (again, historical property means single paned glass windows) from 7 am - even on Saturday. The room was clean, but the damp smell was a bit overwhelming. Otherwise the bed was comfortable. The breakfast is decent and included in the rate, which was nice. Try to get there early as it gets very, very busy around 8:30-9am. We'd likely stay here again, but ask to see our room first before accepting it -- and stick with a basic queen room. Good value for money otherwise.

Room Tip: Due to the historical nature of the property -- ask to see your room first before settling in. Chec...

My husband and I visited New Orleans for a fun few days. Upon checking in, we were greeted by a friendly valet who helped us with our bags to the lobby. The lobby was very nice be open. I especially loved the exposed beams!! The rooms were cute and comfy. Breakfast was spectacular! Much more than any other free breakfast I've experienced! And hopefully you have a chance to check out the bar's happy hour with John!!! He was great! There are some snacks set out for happy hour. The only reason I didn't give the hotel 5 stars was the fact that there are no restaurants or room service at the hotel. A few minutes walk to the French quarter!! We will definitely be coming back.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Country Inn. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was a bonus with a multitude of delicious choices and plenty of spaced seating so that you didn't feel crowded. Rooms were clean and cheerful. Location was a big plus for us. Just outside the French Quarter so you are close to everything without being in a noisy or congested area. The price was very reasonable which is also a big plus. My only complaint is that we were on the 1st floor and were awakened a few times by a noisy garbage pick-up (truck sounded like it was close to our room).

Room Tip: Stay on a upper floor or just make sure you're not near the garbage pick up area.

Green Features: Didn't notice either way. Although there was real dishware for the free breakfast so no throwing out any Styrofoam/plastic.

I am glad you had a great stay! I apologize about the noise from the street - typically it stays quiet as there is very little thru traffic, but occasionally trucks do pass by for neighboring pickups. Thanks for taking the time to share, and hopefully you get to return soon and have an even better stay!

Arrived by Amtrak and this hotel was a short taxi ride away and very central for all the attractions of New Orleans. Front desk staff were really nice folk and helped make our stay an enjoyable one. Lovely clean room and a nice hearty breakfast provide. Rates were good and no reservation at all in recommending this as a great place to stay in the centre of New Orleans

My family and I stayed over the Thanksgiving break. We love the French Quarter and were seeking an afordable, great location. We found it at the Country Inn & Suites. Breakfast was wonderful and the rooms very adequate. Great time!!

Room Tip: We put three kids and two adults in one room. Just requested a roll -a-way bed.

I would recommend the Country Inn & Suites New Orleans French Quarter to anyone looking for a nice, clean, and friendly hotel in New Orleans. The staff is the friendliest I have ever come across in a hotel, and I travel a lot. Everything was clean and bright. The two little lobby areas look very nice and are very cozy for just sitting and relaxing or waiting for your ride (you can watch through the front windows of the hotel). Their breakfast was really nice and plentiful. Even the staff in there was wonderful and accommodating!
The only reason I did not give it a rating of 5 was just because if I were a traveler looking for the perfect hotel, I would consider location to be a top factor. Although this is in a nice location, it would have been perfect had it been a few blocks closer to the action. It was just outside of the action, which I'm sure many people would love. We did walk everywhere and it wasn't a problem, but I did wish it was a few blocks closer. Don't let that hold you back if you're looking for a nice hotel, though. I don't have a bad thing to say about this property!

We stayed here because of the high ratings on Trip Advisor & we were not disappointed. It is convenient to everything. We walked to the Convention Center and the French Quarter. The breakfast was a full hot buffet and varied slightly every day. There were cookies, milk & coffee available 24/7. The staff was accommodating in every way. Our bed and pillows were very comfortable, and by asking for a corner room, it was peaceful & quiet. I can't say enough about this unique hotel in New Orleans! The only disappointment we had was the $28 a day valet because we never used our car.
