“Ready to go back, wouldn't stay anywhere else!”
Reviewed 18 April 2014

After much research and hemming and hawing I book this hotel for our New Orleans stay. So happy I did! We spent four days here in late March and really couldn't have been any happier with our stay. I love that this is a chain hotel but the hotel really has some character in the building. The hotel is centrally located to so much in New Orleans...we put our car in the valet parking and pretty much walked where ever we needed to go. One of the great parts of walking in New Orleans-it's mostly flat. Bonus! We had a king room and it was a little cozy but was just fine for the two of us. We didn't spend much time in the room anyway, but even so there was enough room. Breakfast was yummy with real plates and silverware and a super friendly staff keeping things clean and stocked. It did get a little crowded but that was fixed by eating at eight instead of nine. Much less busy!

Really enjoyed the service from all the staff. An onsite concierge from a budget chain-what? They were very helpful. The valet guys were helpful with close dining suggestions and retrieving stuff we had forgotten in our car. Front desk always had lots of cookies at all hours, and they even passed out bead necklaces in the morning. And don't get me started on John the bartender-don't drink Hurricanes anywhere else. He makes the best ones in the city and is super friendly.

I'd stay again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: If you have any issues with mobility, please tell the staff when you book. Some floor have a little...

Great location, quiet but walking distance from FQ. Good food selection available for breakfast. Double room had plenty of space for four. Loved the main lobby architecture.
Breakfast room a little undersized, but it was Thksgvng weekend so it was obviously crowded. Waiting staff was fast and available, anyway.

I have visited New Orleans 5 times in the past 6 years and would not even consider staying anywhere else other than the Country Inn.From the time you walk in the front door until your holiday is over, you are treated like royalty. All of the staff from the Front Desk,Housekeeping,Dining Room and Maintenance go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. They should be highly commended and all are shockingly excellent in everything they do.I cant wait to come back to my Home Away From Home.Thank you all!!

Room Tip: I have always stayed on a higher floor facing Magazine Street away from the elevators

We spent four nights at this hotel and found it a most attractive and convenient place to stay being near the French Quarter but not too close so it was quiet. The building was once a warehouse and has been tastefully converted retaining some features of its history. Our room was clean and spacious. A nice place to come back to. The only thing that didn't appeal was the firmness of the pillows. Not something you could sink into. The breakfast was adequate and supplies were swiftly replenished. There was a bar with a Happy Hour (or two) that coincided with guests' return in the evening. We found the courtyard a good place to sit with a drink as it was cool with greenery. The staff gave us a good welcome and were friendly and helpful throughout.

Room Tip: I should think all the rooms would be attractive. Maybe avoid the rooms near the elevator with peopl...

We had a great stay here, Hotel had everything we needed, in addition to freshly baked cookies in the lobby everyday. Breakfast was included and very complete. The renovation of the hotel was attractively done and the rate was very competitive. Concierge was extremely helpful.

Stayed here for Mardi Gras! Great place! Good location, free breakfast, free cookies 24/7 YES!! Rooms were spacious enough for the four of us. Bathrooms a bit outdated. The only issue we had was that the front desk called to inform us that we would be charged a fee for smoking in the room... only we weren't smoking!! I invited them to come into our room. Shortly after they visited and could tell no one smoked in our room, and they kept commenting about the odor in the hallway... didn't even apologize for falsely accusing us! We also had an issue trying to catch a cab. The guest services/bellmen were asked to call a cab for us.. we waited at least one hour and no cab ever came. They kept saying "oh they'll be here soon"... eventually we stood out on the street and caught one ourself! Other than that the trip was good and I would likely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room semi-close to the elevator.. to access some rooms you have to walk up a couple of ste...

Glad to hear you had a great stay! We apologize about the troubles with the confusion on the smoking incident, as well as the wait to get a cab. We will share with the staff the opportunities to improve our service. It sounds like everything else went just about perfect though! Thanks for taking the time to share!
