Owner description: Renovated in 2003, the cigar-friendly Polo Club Lounge evokes an 18th century "gentlemen's withdrawing room" with soft, intimate lighting to enhance the rich tobacco color scheme and embracing, overstuffed chairs and sofas.

The Polo Lounge inside of the Windsor Court Hotel is a fabulous bar. If you just want to have a pre-dinner drink or after dinner drink, this is the spot. They have live music most nights and never a cover. They have waiters that actually wait on the customers. You don't have to jostle in at the bar to order a drink, they will come to you in a timely manner. The drinks are delicious and truly the best 'old fashioned" in the south.

My girl and I like to stay at at the Windsor Court Hotel, so It's natural that we spend time in the Polo Lounge. We love this place. Wonderful ambiance with a nice selection of house cocktails. There's a nice trio playing music around dinner time. We shared a "bar pizza" which was fantastic. Roger the bartender is friendly and efficient. This is a great place to relax.....

Crab cake was one of the best I've ever had. Pizza was to die for and the mac and cheese was delicious. Service excellent, of course.

With the reputation this place has, how can one logically pass this place up? For the ambitious drinker who wants to hit every iconic drinking establishment in Nola, this place is a required destination, right? WRONG. Personally, we don't get the hype. Yes, the lounge has ambiance. It's comfortably furnished and adorned, but hardly distinctive, different from any other high end hotel lounge, or historically significant. Yes, the service was outstanding and the three-man jazz band was a fine addition.

But...the air conditioning....Seriously? In the summers I can understand, but when it's 65 outside and it feels colder inside than out, then you better pray to God you don't get wet. We froze our butts off after getting pounded to mush by a thunderstorm, and were never so glad to get back outside. We tried to warm our insides with one B&B, and one tiny cup of tea and coffee. It didn't work. The bill--$35. $6.50 for tea and coffee...each...You've got to be #$%^&&%$ kidding me. Did they have it brewed short-order in Indonesia and China??? We pay less than half that for an entire box! So in the end, it wasn't the beverages that warmed us, but the blood-boiling bill.

The decision to charge outrageous prices because you enjoy fleecing your patrons, or because you've crumbled under the weight of your own crass pretentiousness, usually leads to one thing: outrage.

All in all, I give all three stars to the service and jazz band, but zippo to the lounge...

During Mardi Gras to see a view of the parade. Especially after a morning or afternoon tea with Jasmine she is great bar tender and attendant. You can ask anything about the hotel and she will point you in the right direction. Great atmosphere, decor and conversation

Try the Ramos Gin Fizz; its excellent!!. The only eyesore is that from where I was seated I could see several open wine bottle lined up on the carpeted floor. Needless to say I did not have any wine.

The Polo Lounge is a great pre-cusor to to lunch or dinner in the Grill Room.
