Description: Cochon captures the true essence of Cajun and Southern cooking. Chefs Donald Link and Stephen Stryjewski bring their love for southern Louisiana foods to every plate at Cochon. Donald's experience cooking with his family at their homes in Crowley and Rayne allow guests to share in his passion for real country and home cooking. The food is focused and simple, featuring roasted meats with natural sauces, homemade sausages, and fresh local seafood. The menu compliments the rustic, yet contemporary setting of the dining room. The Bar at Cochon features signature cocktails as well as the classic libations of New Orleans. A diverse beer selection with an emphasis on local micro-brews offers a cool contrast with the sometimes spicy cuisine.

I went here twice in 4 days it was that good. The louisiana cochon was just fabulous and the cocktails are amazing. The staff are super nice.

“Overrated”

Two sandwiches, two beers $50.00 -- not bad, nothing special. (not my photo above). Highly overrated!

“Great ribs!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 August 2014 via mobile

Cochon was slightly out of town for us, but the food was worth the trip! I had already intended to go here after looking at TA reviews, but it is worth noting that while we were out there two New Orleans residents we chatted to on separate occasions recommended it to us and were pleased we'd already been!
The ribs especially were super delicious - the BBQ marinade was really tasty. My husband got a charcuterie platter which was nice but a bit of a disappointing option to pick when they had such delicious hot food!
We went at lunchtime which was alright but I think it'd be a better place to treat yourself to in the evening (with a nice glass of wine!) as it was quite smart inside.
I think there was a butcher and sandwich shop outside as well, separate to the main restaurant. The people we chatted to in NOLA said that was worth a visit too but we couldn't fit both in...

“Everything Looked Good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2014

I would really have liked to have seen this place before it was modernized. It is very modern, clean and bright. I had envisioned it as a dine in shop with picnic tables and sandwiches served on butcher paper. Far from it. You place tour order at the counter and sit down in the dining area. We had the Cochon Muffalettas. Unlike Central Grocery, this sandwich was hot. Very good meat and bread. The olive spread was not great but overall a great sandwich. Will go back. BTW, don't confuse this with the Cochon Restaurant on the corner.
