Ashton's Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #3 of 141 New Orleans B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence

We stayed at Ashton's B&B from the 28th of August until the 2nd of September and were more than pleasantly surprised with what we found. Being 'hotel people', we were a bit reluctant to book a B&B. We love being anonymous, hate to intrude and hence tend to not choose a B&B as a place to stay. Having read so many good reviews and seeing the pictures of some of the rooms, we decided to give Ashton's the benefit of the doubt...

And what did we find? Excellence from beginning to end. Detailed instructions on how to find the B&B, a perfect non-intrusive way of getting access to your room after 'business hours', a beautiful and exceptionally clean room (Room 8, the Charpentier simply has the best bathroom ever encountered anywhere), airco with remote control...

And then there was breakfast... not your usual breakfast but a daily changing culinary treat without comparison. Excellent combinations, beautifully laid out... (Did we mention the 'Banana foster waffle' delight that we found on our first day yet?)...

So much to mention... free wireless internet, cooking advice, great tips on where to go for dinner, tips on what to visit, which tours to take etcetera. Every tip proved to be 110% worthwhile.

The best thing is, we truly felt at home. Never ever did we feel we were intruding or taking up too much time of the innkeeper. We sincerely feel that he did everything he could to make our New Orleans visit as perfect as possible, not only for as far as our stay in the B&B went but simply everything. It was a perfect start to our holiday and Ashton's was by far the best place we stayed in during our three week visit to Louisiana and Florida.

If you feel that this almost sounds too good to be true, well... try it out. You may just find yourself in Banana Foster Waffle Paradise during your first breakfast... I'll tell you... it's worth the gamble, and basically... you can't loose...

This is the second time we have stayed at this B&B. From the moment you step inside the door until you leave, Patrick & Karma make you feel very special. Please do not miss the breakfast at this B&B. Patrick is the chef and a very good one at that. The tasso eggs benedict is to die for! The rooms are most comfortable with every amenity that you could possibly need or want. What a jewel in New Orleans' crown! Definitely a Must Return.

What a wonderful surprise from my first contact to my last moments with the innkeepers! I've stayed at B&B's for years but have never experienced Southern Hospitality before and now I'm spoiled thanks to Patrick and Karma. From the very beginning, Ashton's did it all well. The first email gave me perfect instructions on how to locate the inn. I was completed accommodated for my late arrival and given instructions on where to find drinks, goodies, my room, etc. And what a great surprise when I exited the heat of Summer in New Orleans to find a perfectly cool air conditioned room which was more modern, clean, new and upscale than one would expect to find in any B&B let alone a southern mansion. Hat's off to you Patrick and Karma for creating not only a beautiful establishment but also a wonderful experience. I will soon return!

With so many choices to stay in New Orleans, what a special place we discovered! We've stayed at many B&B's and nothing compares to our experience at Ashton's. Patrick was an excellent host with endless suggestions on what to see (and where to eat), even personally taking us for a short tour of the Quarter. His gourmet breakfasts were out of this world. The attention to detail in the beautiful house, as well as the cleanliness in all of the rooms was top notch. Karma was lovely as well, giving us a history and tour of the house and wonderful conversation. Lots of snacks, beverages, even Karma's choice of toiletries, were details that really made this B&B stand out from the rest. Would love to return soon.

Stayed at Ashton's for the weekend with a large group and was taken aback at the indifference and unwillingness to accomodate our needs. From our first phone call for directions to our departure, the innkeepers made us feel as if we were an imposition. I have stayed at bed and breakfasts for years and have never encountered such hostility and resentment. The room was clean, but the air conditioner did not work correctly. The room was filled with street light at night and had no dark shades to filter the light. Our entire party encountered some type of gruffness or coldness from the innkeepers and one member of our group checked out early because of the way she was treated. If you are looking for true Southern graciousness and hospitality, please look elsewhere!

Terrific BnB experience. Great location -- quiet and yet easy access to NOLA hotspots. Divine breakfasts. Tastefully appointed rooms. Super service -- warm, friendly w/o being intrusive, thoughtful, attentive, professional. And the cherry on the sundae -- wi-fi throughout!! -- works even when sitting in the backyard, under the oak tree. So, in a word -- awesome! (And I am not quick to use superlatives when evaluating . . .).

Ashton's was absolutely perfect! We spent two nights there during our honeymoon and we were so incredibly happy with our experience. Patrick was so friendly and helpful and his cooking was amazing! (Request the sweet potato stuffed french toast!!) :) Our room was very clean and cozy. Also, the value was great with parking, snacks, and a gourmet breakfast included in the price. When we visit New Orleans in the future we will not waste our time looking around for another place to stay because we know nothing could ever top the experience we had there.
