I had the pleasure of staying at the Bourbon Orleans hotel for 8 days at the beginning of the year and loved the location, the accommodations, and the service (with a few exceptions). The balcony suites and lofts are top notch with great views of the French Quarter--Voodoo shops, street musicians and artists, puking fraternity boys and sports fanatics (the Sugarbowl revelry), and walking distance to just about any place one would want to go. If you plan to stay here or any other hotel in the dead center of the French Quarter, you have to accept the noise and insanity.
The staff (especially the front desk, room service, and valets) were top notch. The breakfast servers were less. In fact, if I had to identify a unsatisfactory element, it would be the lackluster bar and restaurants. The place could and should have a more expansive restaurant on-site and its tavern could be outstanding but it is dull and generally vacant. However, there are many, many food and drink options a stone's throw away.
Overall, I loved the place and will stay here again during my next trip.More
