We stayed at the Bourbon Orleans for the Sugar Bowl. The location in the French Quarter was great as it sits between Bourbon and Royal St. We loved being able to walk out to the shops on Royal Street. Café du Monde is very close by for coffee and beignets. Many excellent restaurants in easy walking distance. Our room was clean and comfortable - nice linens, comfortable beds, very accommodating and friendly staff. The concierge, Ron, was very helpful in getting us a last minute dinner reservation for New Year's Eve. As other reviewers mentioned, we could hear street noise in our room which faced the outside, but its nothing worse than you would hear traveling to New York or any other busy city. We would definitely book this hotel in the future.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper, book a courtyard room

We stayed here two nights following Christmas. The location can't be beat, sandwiched between Bourbon Street and the cathedral. Our room was quite large, and best of all, we asked for a courtyard location and got it - very quiet. Just around the corner is Preservation Hall and our favorite dueling piano bar, Pat O'Brians. Our only complaint was the breakfast buffet, which isn't in lauded in the room rate. The price was quite hefty at $19.95, and the quality was subpar. However, there are plenty of other good restaurants nearby. It was raining on our last morning and we took the easy way out, which was a disappointment. This was our only negative in an otherwise wonderful stay.

Room Tip: Courtyard location!

Nice room, comfortable bed and beautiful bath. But watch out for the noise. Not from Bourbon Street but from the hotel's own housekeeping and maintenance staff in the hallways. Lots of chatter and walkie talkies on and off throughout the day. Who is training these people and why isn't some hallway etiquette drummed into the staff? I stayed here two years ago and recall the same hallway dramas. The hotel has a great central location in the French Quarter.

I stayed here with a group of friends 12/28 - 12/31. The location of this hotel is perfect. It was easy to walk anywhere in the French Quarter from here. Our room was on the 6th floor (but we didn't see any ghosts) :). We were on the Bourbon Street side of the hotel. The noise didn't bother us at all. The bathroom was nice and large enough for girls to share while getting ready. The staff was very helpful. They were happy to answer questions and always polite. I would definitely stay here again.

Great Location!!!!!
It is very close to Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathedral, Bourbon Street, five minute walk to Decatur Street, Royal Street, plenty of bars around, very nice Wine bar across the street!!!

Friendly Staff, check-in at 3pm (no early check-in) Everyone we encountered (Front Desk Doormen, Bell Hop, housekeepers, room service, bar staff) were friendly, and pleasant (you would be surprised at how many are not!)

Two drink tickets for the hotel bar (not sure if all the time)
Room Service: Ordered Breakfast one morning, very good meal - not as pricey as some hotels are

Room (one bed) was a little smaller than preferred for two people; felt cramped at times.(not much drawer space- separate closet was nice, fairly big)

Bathroom - clean, shower with black tiles, glazed glass but no door to close entirely - was strange at first but ultimately, it was nice- shower pressure, Excellent, Nice magnified vanity mirror attached to wall to check those pores!! loved it! :)

Large Flat Screen (limited channels)Room had phone w/ desk/chair, wet bar, hair dryer, iron, safe, nightstands -Room felt dark at times even with two lamps.

Stayed on second floor, corner room. No View but that was okay with us- quiet!

Bed -clean, soft sheets but not very comfy :( had hip pain every morning I woke up; very lumpy, and could feel every turn from bed-mate - I would say this was worst thing about whole experience; bed was pretty bad. .. I wonder if all the beds are like this??

Overall, if you want a central location to a lot of the attractions to see, this hotel is perfect. We were out most of the day and if we were around the French Quarter it was very easy to go back to the room to to change, take a break, drop off or pick up stuff.. Again, after long days of being tourists, would have been nice to come back to a more comfy bed ..

Room Tip: Nice hotel!! but ask about the bed!!! Ask to check the bed before selecting the room :)
