disclosure: did not stay on the property, but ate there, enjoyed the lobby, and were impressed with everyone and everything from the parking lot attendants, to the cute concierge (from Switzerland, no less) to the young lady staffing the front desk (a local, earnest and just starting her life). We actually went by the place 2x (long story -- our time in NOLA was very brief this trip). I hope to stay there on my next visit. The lobby itself is worth the visit...full disclosure: feeling culture-starved in SoCal.

This is a beautiful and amazing hotel! The staff is gracious and friendly, bending over backward for your needs. Rooms are spacious and beautiful and a five minute walk to the French quarter yet far enough away to take a break from the crazy. Highly recommend!!

The hotel is very elegant - the lobby, the bar, the dining room, the hallways, and the rooms themselves. The rooms were well sized with comfortable mattresses. Minor complaints were lack of shelf space in the bathroom and pillows that were too soft. If those are the biggest problems, you're in a pretty good hotel! The friendliness and efficiency of the staff was really extraordinary - tied in my mind with the Ritz Carlton chain, until now they have been my "gold standard" for excellent service. We also found the location convenient - easy to reach Bourbon St but also convenient to the Garden District. Streetcar stops are within a block or two and the doormen called cabs quickly when we needed one. We will be back!

A bit pricey because of Mardi Gras but otherwise the hotel was excellent. We had 4 people in our room on the 7th floor. I never slept so comfortably the bed was so nice. Really loved the pbj, milk, and cocoa at 10am in the lobby.

From the doormen in tuxes and top hats, to the helpful concierge, friendly waiters, beautifully decorated lobby, dining area, and rooms, Le Pavillon is perhaps the nicest hotel I have stayed in (anywhere, not just in NOLA). It's location is great: walking distance to the French Quarter, but not in the middle of all the craziness that goes on there. Also, walking distance to the Superdome. Our room was clean and beautifully decorated (even the ceiling!). The rooftop pool and hot tub are very nice (small, but not crowded; and weather-dependent because they are outdoors). The 10pm PB&J and hot chocolate is a real nice touch if you get in early enough to partake.

Had the chance to spend the President's weekend in New Orleans. This was my first time in New Orleans and I found it to be an interesting city. Le Pavillon matches the old world charm that the city brings. The hotel itself is ornate and elaborate and matched my own vision of what "old" New Orleans would have been like. We stayed in a two room suite on the sixth floor that was comfortable and clean. We were welcomed into the room with a fruit and cheese plate and a bottle of Cabernet, our daughter had a plate of cookies and 4 varieties of milk. The beds were comfortable. Although the bathroom seemed a bit tight, it was clean and well stocked with towels and toiletries. We were a bit worried because of the traffic noise (turns out it was the NBA All-Stars weekend) but by late evening the traffic had calmed and the noise wasn't an issue. The hotel itself was quite quiet. We were able to try their Sunday Brunch and it was very good. They also provide free peanut butter and jelly sandwiches between 10-11 each evening, however NOLA has incredible restaurants, so by the time we got in from dinner, we were to full to try the sandwich bar. The hotel is in a great location. It's away from the craziness, but close enough to walk or take a quick rickshaw ride to Canal St. or Bourbon St. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here for a wedding that I was in this past summer, and I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised at how nice this hotel is to visit. First of all, they handled the wedding tremendously, and the staff overall was great to interact with. The hotel is historic, but not run down in the slightest. Be sure to take a second and marvel at the beauty of the lobby that includes a gorgeous grandfather clock that you would probably miss if you weren't looking. The rooms were on the small side (something that would probably bother me if my kids were in tow), but well appointed and comfortable. To me the location is perfect. It is not in the quarter, but close enough to walk to the quarter and not feel like it's a trek. Overall, I enjoyed the stay and was glad my friend (the bride) made this hotel her choice to get married.
