“Ideal NOLA Accomodation”
Reviewed 17 April 2014

A stay at Lamothe House takes you back to another century. Room furnishings are antique, yet up to contemporary standards. The private courtyard is filled with sub-tropical foliage with a good-sized pool at the center. Perhaps best is the location, a short walk to the clubs on Frenchman Street and the French Market, and minutes from the French Quarter. Yet, tree-lined Esplanade is reasonably quiet, even subdued. We've stayed at Lamothe House four times. This visit, a few little things fell between the cracks: in-room coffee service was not replenished, clean towels were laid on the bed, not hung, and we still miss the continental breakfast which, inexplicably, was eliminated two years ago. Nonetheless, Lamothe House remains an accommodation of choice which we would recommend enthusiastically.

We stayed in the King Suite for 3 nights. The room was very spacious and was quiet. The room was very clean, staff was friendly and helpful. We were close to everything in the Quarter and just a couple blocks from the trolly station. Would definately recommend staying here!

Three women; we reserved #205 with 1 king bedroom, a 2 queen bedroom & a small sitting room. Very clean, comfortable & spacious on the 2nd floor. An easy walk to attractions and activities on a quiet tree lined boulevard. Thanks to De'Aun and Jonathan who gave us wonderful suggestions for fantastic, non-tourist restaurants. The courtyard pool & spa were warm for late afternoon relaxation. Some street noise from Frenchman St behind the hotel into the wee hours but we expected that - after all, New Orleans does not go quietly into the night!

My wife and I stayed at the Lamothe House a few weekends ago for St Patrick’s Day. Location can’t be beat, room was clean and ready when we arrived at 3:30 and the bed was the most comfortable I’ve ever had in a hotel! The staff was so nice and helpful. They even had a parking lot right behind the hotel which made parking a breeze. Will definitely stay here again when we return to New Orleans!

Room Tip: Do yourself a favor and explore Frenchman St which is right around the corner. Amazing music and foo...

We traveled to NOLA in early March, staying in the Lamothe House for 4 nights. The location is absolutely perfect. The accommodations are small, but clean. The shower drain did clog, but was fixed hours after we called. It started to fill up again right before we left. The one complaint we had was the noisiness of our room. We stayed on the first floor (#103) and after days of interrupted napping and early morning stomping, we realized we our room was RIGHT under the office. Ack. We would stay there again, but would definitely request another room locale. The staff was very helpful checking in and out. Other guests were very friendly as well. You are RIGHT next to Frenchman St. which is the best part. You just can't beat the location.

Room Tip: Do not stay in room #103 right under office. Second floor would be better.

We arrived early about 11:30 am and Johnathan at the front desk helped us unload and safely stash all our gear so we could wander the neighborhood for lunch until our room was ready. Upon our return (Frank's mufalettas and Cafe du Monde bineits (sp?) he got us registered and helped us with our gear again. We were so taken by his helpfulness that we gave him our first TA pin for Excellent Service. The Lamothe House has a great location, just offset from Bourbon and Frenchman Streets enough to be quiet, but close enough to stroll to. Also two or three blocks from the Trolley Car ($3 a day, you can't go wrong). The House itself was very charming and we loved every minute of our four night stay. We really recommend this as the title reads, location, charm and service.

Room Tip: We were in the newer rooms in the back ~#118 and there is a back keyed entrance which opens right ac...

my wife had to go to the fron desk to complain about the noise ands fighting on the lower level.
good thing was location to Frenchman street.
we have been to NOLA many times....We will not be back to this hotel
perhaps they should consider a security guard to keep the peace
