“" True New Orleans" ”

Okay, I lived in new Orleans back in 1992. When I decided to bring my kids down for a visit, I did my research. Well that research paid off! Lamothe house is the real deal! Old yet comfortable, so much new Orleans ambience you're not going to want to leave. Great location also. Frenchman street is where all the locals go clubbing. . Quick Walk to the quarter. Rene working the front desk was excellent !!

Absolutely loved this place.... The location is great - nice and clean - lovely pool - great staff. Will definitely stay here again when we return. Loved the bed and hardwood floors. Just what we were looking for.

We stayed at Lamothe House over Easter weekend with a group of friends. The hotel is in a great location on the edge of the FQ, a nice walk to the river, the Charles Street trolley, etc. The rooms, although quite small, were beautiful and we loved the quiet courtyard. Staff was very nice and quite helpful guiding us toward local places to eat and summoning taxis as needed.
The hotel deserves 5 stars except for our housekeeping. After the 1st night we told the housekeeper that we only wanted to exchange towels. When she asked after the 2nd night, I told her we needed everything--kleenex, t.p., floors swept, etc. When we returned to the room, a pile of towels and plastic bag of room supplies was on the unmade bed. The dirty towels were still there, the bed unmade, the trashcan full. It was too late in the day for a housekeeping visit so we made do. Not a huge deal but a big blemish on an otherwise outstanding hotel.
I would stay here again in a minute, but next time I would make my request for a clean room much clearer.

Room Tip: Our 2nd floor courtyard room was great.

Located on a beautiful street. AMAZING king size bed. Clean room, towels and linens. extremely pleasant staff. Gorgeous pool & patio outside the room.
We got room 104 on the ground floor. It was a bit small, and the windows doesn't open. But It didn't bother us one bit, since everything else was so perfect!

The house is located right on the French Quarter eastern border. 5min walk to Coop's Place - awesome local pub, 5min from amazing live music clubs on Frenchmen st.

We arrived late (11PM) and it was raining. The kind gentleman from the front desk waited for my boyfriend at the back door with an umbrella (!) after parking in the house's parking lot. It was a wonderful place to return to after traveling all day in this amazing city. The house itself is beautiful, tons of character and history. We absolutely loved the king size bed - huge wide and tall, comfy, a mountain of fluffy pillows :) We could barely get ourselves out in the morning. I highly recommend it!

Room Tip: The deluxe room with king size bed will fit you perfectly if you don't mind its modest measureme...

A stay at Lamothe House takes you back to another century. Room furnishings are antique, yet up to contemporary standards. The private courtyard is filled with sub-tropical foliage with a good-sized pool at the center. Perhaps best is the location, a short walk to the clubs on Frenchman Street and the French Market, and minutes from the French Quarter. Yet, tree-lined Esplanade is reasonably quiet, even subdued. We've stayed at Lamothe House four times. This visit, a few little things fell between the cracks: in-room coffee service was not replenished, clean towels were laid on the bed, not hung, and we still miss the continental breakfast which, inexplicably, was eliminated two years ago. Nonetheless, Lamothe House remains an accommodation of choice which we would recommend enthusiastically.

We stayed in the King Suite for 3 nights. The room was very spacious and was quiet. The room was very clean, staff was friendly and helpful. We were close to everything in the Quarter and just a couple blocks from the trolly station. Would definately recommend staying here!

Three women; we reserved #205 with 1 king bedroom, a 2 queen bedroom & a small sitting room. Very clean, comfortable & spacious on the 2nd floor. An easy walk to attractions and activities on a quiet tree lined boulevard. Thanks to De'Aun and Jonathan who gave us wonderful suggestions for fantastic, non-tourist restaurants. The courtyard pool & spa were warm for late afternoon relaxation. Some street noise from Frenchman St behind the hotel into the wee hours but we expected that - after all, New Orleans does not go quietly into the night!
