“A great stay.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 April 2014

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is beautiful and in a great location, close to everything but not noisy. The room was quite small. For me, the jewel in the crown was the roof top terrace and pool. I started every day with a swim overlooking the rooftops of this stunning city. You have to pay for parking and internet so make sure to factor that into your budget.

The Omni Royal is our favorite hotel in the Quarter, on account of its location, ambiance, and the roof-top pool. You're never far from where you want to be. The Rib Room is an excellent restaurant for all meals, especially dinner. This is an old-world styled hotel, very elegant and worth the money.

love the city, atmosphere and who could not love the food and culture in this city. What a great time. We had lunch at the Gumbo shop Oysters at the Acme oyster house and Dinner at Comanders Palace all great places to eat and have drinks. Breakfast, you have to go to Cafe Dumond.

My wife and I have stayed here before and this has become hands down our favorite hotel in the Quarter! Once you're there everything in the French Quarter is in walking distance. From the Door staff (Marty Rico and AL) who will greet you at your arrival, to the front desk staff the people are the greatest asset. The rooftop pool area is a delight with some of the best views of the Quarter and an ever present breeze off the river. Adam was bar tender there and was fun to talk beers and beer joints with. The rooms are beautiful but if you don't like a small room, make sure you up grade to premier room with 150 sq. ft. of space.....We got one with a walk-out balcony and it was absolutely worth every penny....

While you're very much in the heart of the French Quarter, you're a couple of blocks from the craziness of Bourbon St. Everyone at the hotel was pleasant and helpful. We followed a trip advisor tip and signed up for the free Omni rewards and got coffee and a paper delivered to our room each morning. The rooms are on the small side but who goes to New Orleans to stay in the room? The bed was comfortable and that's what matters.

This was our first time in New Orleans, and we are so glad we chose this hotel! It is in a fantastic location in the French Quarter, within just a few minutes walk of everything! The interior of the hotel (lobby, hallways, etc.) is very beautiful and feels very luxurious. The staff was extremely friendly, and we were warmly greeted every time we encountered a staff member. There's a little convenience shop in the lobby that has snacks and such for purchase and also offers a selection of freshly made Starbucks beverages. The observation deck on the roof is awesome! There are unobstructed views of the Mississippi River and the whole French Quarter. The heated pool and pool bar are up there too, but we didn't use either one of those.

Our room was lovely--very clean, nice finishes, comfy bed and pillows, nice marble bathroom--but it was also very...um, let's call it cozy. It took some maneuvering for my husband and I to move around the room at the same time, and I banged my shoulder into the wall-mounted TV more than once while walking past the bed. But while the close quarters were a tad inconvenient when we were in the room, it really wasn't an issue because we spent so little time in there. We pretty much just showered and then fell exhausted into the bed after walking around all day. We had a little fridge in our room stocked with beverages, but we did not drink any of them (so I don't know what the cost would have been if had). We did use the fridge to store our own bottles of water and a little bottle of milk and no one had a problem with it. We did not use room service, so I can't comment on the timeliness of delivery.

They offer an Omni Select Rewards program when you check in, and I totally recommend signing up for it. It's FREE, effective immediately, and you get perks for signing up like free wi-fi (which is like $10 a day otherwise), free newspaper delivery to your room, and evening turn down service (with little chocolates and a fresh bucket of ice!). So it is definitely worth the three minutes it takes to fill out the little card.

We fell in love with this city during our visit, and we'll be returning for sure. We would absolutely stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: The smallest room option is fine for two people. You won't be in there much anyway.

Stayed at the Omni Royal for 4 nights while in New Orleans, I recommend that you ask for a king sizes bed when staying there. I found that the queen sizes beds were rather small and the rooms were just as small. However, the experience staying at the hotel was what i expected from the Omni and new orleans. The service was wonderful, the staff was great, the bell hops were very helpful, special Rico. He lead us to some really good restaurants and some very good music.

Above all ask for the package that include there breakfast buffet, it was certain a good value for the money.

Room Tip: As for a King sizes bed. I think the beds sizes they use are european sizes in measurements.
