After reading the review on this site, I expected the hotel to be "charming". We were given a room in the 500 building, on a main street across from the French Market (room 521) it was noisy and it was in pretty sad condition - stained bedspread, beat up furniture. Since our friends were in the room next door I decided to try it. The next morning I asked to move, and to its credit the hotel was very accommodating. I was given a small apartment-like room in the 100 building. It was behind the restaurant, clean but not stunning, and much quieter. A definite improvement. Later in the day our friends were moved to a room in the 400 building that had just been redone with new carpet and furniture. They said it was a little noisy which we agree is only due to being in the French Quarter (which never sleeps). While I liked the location, I won't try this hotel again.
