My daughter and I just stayed at the Hotel Provincial for a long weekend. The location is perfect--quiet, but easy to get to everything in the French Quarter. It was very hot and humid (first weekend in June) and since all of the rooms face the courtyard our room seemed damp and musty. Also, light from the courtyard came in through the transom over the door and made the room very bright all night. Regardless, it is a great hotel and a perfect choice over any of the big "chains." It truly has a New Orleans atmosphere with all of the beautiful woodwork and antiques. As far as being haunted, my daughter said the only ghosts she heard were the loud ones on the patio getting ready to go out in the evening and then again when they came back in at 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning!

On-Site valet parking was cheaper than other hotels we considered. Location is relatively quiet and convenient to most things in the French Quarter including Frenchmens Street. The service was very friendly and efficient from the bellman to the desk clerk and the maids. Courtyard is nice and the pool was big enough to cool off 8 - 10 people at a time. Everything seemed safe and secure on the property. Room was of decent size and the upgraded bathroom was great. Room was cleaned thoroughly every day.

Room Tip: There is no elevator, but if you don't mind the stairs the second floor rooms are probably quiet...

Location is great, only two blocks from French Market, Bourbon and Frenchman St. You can walk anywhere and feel comfortable. The room furnishings reminded us of Europe; room very clean and bathroom updated. Mattress was a bit soft for our comfort and there was no coffee maker, which would have been nice. The entire staff was friendly and extremely helpful with directions, calling taxis, solving any issues promptly. All of the bellmen were friendly, but David certainly stands out. He was our first contact when we arrived and made us feel right at home. We are definitely going to stay there again on our next visit to the city. Can't beat the value, location, and friendliness when comparing to more modern hotels in the city.

We just spent 7 wonderful nights at the Hotel Provincial. It is in the French Quarter and close to everything, but amazingly quiet. The hotel staff were wonderful, the rooms were clean and beautiful. We had courtyard/pool side rooms and I would recommend you ask for them; either the first or second floor.

Room Tip: We stayed beside the courtyard and pool and it was amazingly quiet. The courtyard is a great place...

The hotel is ok, but the getting there leaves a lot to be desired. They could not accommodate our
tour bus and we had to walk 3 blocks with carry on luggage to get to the hotel. There is no elevator and we (Sr.Citizens) were on the 2nd floor. Our Luggage was taken by pick up truck to the bus in pouring down rain. All our clothes were wet at the next hotel. We also had to walk back to the bus in pouring down rain. Cannot you afford a van to carry luggage and people to and from their bus. If I had known this is advance I would not have booked the tour.

Room Tip: Unless you are in great physical shape and don't care if you don't have elevator, microwave...

We just returned from spending 8 nights at the Hotel Provincial. We were there to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary so we were looking for something special. We've made many trips to New Orleans, but have never stayed on this end of the French Quarter. I poured over reviews for months before choosing this hotel and we couldn't have been more pleased. Our room was in the main building and just off the courtyard. The room was furnished with antiques, but had an updated bathroom, flat screen TV and free wi-fi. The bed was very comfortable and the room was kept very clean. We made much use of the beautiful courtyard and also the Ice House Bar just off the hotel lobby. The daily continental breakfast was more than adequate and the staff in the breakfast area was extremely friendly. Actually, the entire staff was very accommodating. The hotel also has secure on site parking. We never had to wait more than a few minutes to get our car. The location of the hotel is great. Just a few block to the French Market, Bourbon St. and great restaurants. Also, only a few blocks from the Riverfront Streetcar line which connects you to the Canal Street line. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again. It will be our first choice next time we go to New Orleans.

Room Tip: Room 102 was perfect if you like being near the courtyard.

Our family goes to New Orleans twice a year and have since the '80's. That's when Hotel Provincial stole our hearts. From the service, to the rooms, to the relaxing courtyard everything is perfect and is a place we can relax and feel comfortable. Plus they have the BEST Bloody Mary ever in their Icehouse bar. Hotel Provincial is centrally located in the heart of the French Quarters so everything is within walking distance. Can't wait for our family to meet up again for another stay at Christmas this year. Always look forward to David greeting us when we pull up to the hotel. The staff is wonderful!

Room Tip: The premium rooms with French wooden doors that open to Chartres Street are beautiful. There is some...
