Stayed in this hotel for five days and have a lot to tell about this enchanting property. Location is perfect and many well-known restaurants of the city are just at walking distance. Both, the Interior as well as exterior of the building is stunning. The room we stayed in was one of the best accommodations; I have stayed in the last two years. It was very elegantly designed and gracefully appointed with all things of need. Food and staff were nice. Will definitely return back.

Booked five nights here with a Contemporary Queen Jr. Suite. Roomy sitting room with love seat, desk/chair, TV, small fridge, microwave and bathroom, with the bed in the upstairs loft. Great room. There was a back door to a porch facing the street to the east so got the morning sun. Location just a half block from the St. Charles Street Car very convenient. Nice simple but ample continental breakfast you can bring to your room or eat in the patio areas. Rates are reasonable, location excellent, and rooms very nice.

We booked this hotel for 1 (Saturday) night post-cruise. It was a good choice for this purpose. All of the French Quarter Hotels were really expensive and required 2 nights on a weekend. We were able to book the Prytania Park for 1 weekend night and we were given an excellent rate. The hotel is located on the edge of the Garden District in a residential neighborhood, but it is only a short streetcar ride to the French Quarter. The St. Charles SC stops ½ block away. There are several decent, reasonably priced restaurants nearby. The hotel is small but the room was clean and comfortable. The queen-sized bed was firm and we slept well. The bathroom fixtures were up to date and there is a separate sink and large counter area, which was nice for packing, as we were flying home early the next morning. The front desk ordered a cab for 5:20 AM (she phoned their regular cab driver), but he was 7 or 8 min late and I got worried. We asked her to phone United Cabs and a driver arrived within 5 min. While I preferred the French Quarter location for our pre-cruise Nola sightseeing, this little budget hotel was great for 1 night and we were certainly happy when we got our credit card statement as it was very modestly priced.

Stayed two nights during an unseasonable march cold snap. We were in the "historical" building which doesn't have individual heating and a/c units. The room itself was delightful with a good king four poster bed, high ceilings, and a nicely remodeled bath. Our inability to control the heat left us shivering and diving under the covers for afternoon naps and the plumbing was less than ideal with sudden changes in water temperature depending on the demands from other parts of the building. While these were minor annoyances to us you might want to specify one of the more modern rooms to avoid these issues.

We would stay there again. The location just off the St Charles trolley line made it a snap to get anywhere we wanted to go. You can walk to restaurants (lots of different types from fast food to fine dining), ATM's, a Walgreens, and lots of other businesses. This seemed to us like a very good value for a conveniently located hotel with free parking.

Room Tip: The "historical" building lacks some modern amenities.

Was in NOLA for a convention and the convention hotels were booked very quickly. prices around town were ridiculous, so decided to take a chance. Was a fairly short walk to convention center - maybe 10 minutes. Not a picturesque walk but short and easy. So location is good.

Hotel is in a residential-ish neighborhood and strange maze of buildings, however quaint and feels historic for sure. Rooms had character. Definitely not the nice chain hotels, however character and small feel were great. Definitely older so do not expect perfection. Clean and reasonable size.

The continental breakfast is basic. Cereal and bagels basically. However if you are on a budget it is a nice savings to use for lunch and dinner. Plus the general neighborhood has some great little restaurants within a couple blocks. Cute little area and right off the street car route with some bars and restaurants and decent amount of foot traffic at night to be comfortable walking around alone. There was even a Walgreens a couple blocks down. The room had a mini fridge so I could buy a small case of water so I did not have to pay convention center prices for bottled water. Room also had a microwave so if I had wanted to could saved even more money.

Some reviews I had read complained about some noise. I was on the back side so was quiet...with two exceptions which were not the hotels fault. One was the people upstairs having no courtesy at all. Then a family who was having breakfast and not limiting their small children from running around screaming at 7:30 on a Sunday. The hotel could post signs to remember people's rooms are right there, however it is not their fault at all that other guests just do not know how to share space with courtesy.

Overall, I took a chance and ended up very happy with what I got. Reasonable walk, great neighborhood, places to eat, and a clean room with some historic character. For the price in comparison to the rest of the hotel options, I would have expected a lot less and was pleasantly surprised.
