We stayed here last year for our honeymoon, and will be returning this week for our anniversary! Love this place.... Hotel was in the middle of a major remodel but we were not affected one bit. Room was small but very cozy & very clean! The inn is located on the quiet end of The Quarter... but everything is within a comfortable and safe walking distance! Highly reccomend !!!

We recently stayed three nights at the French Market Inn and we liked it all right.
The service is excellent, the location can't get much better and the rooms are spotless.

I'm sure (reading the other reviews) that there are great rooms in the hotel, large, beautiful and comfortable. Ours was tiny, it barely fit our king size bed, had no windows (it felt like being in a small box) and the walls/door a paper thin. You can hear EVERYTHING in the corridor and two or three rooms around: Yes, Linda, you should wear that dress is hot out there, and no John, leave that hat in the room everybody knows there is only one fedora per group.

We didn't spend much time in the room (that's not why you go to NOLA), so my complain is not around comfort but about bang for the buck. Rooms like this should come (IMHO) and a much greater discount than the normal rooms. I can't know if this was the case, but I do know that we got it at a similar price than other alternatives at similarly rated (same dates and location) hotels we've stayed in the past with better rooms.

So, if you know that you are getting a nice room, this is a great place to stay... if you don't I would consider checking out other places.

Room Tip: Interior rooms means no windows and tiny. Try to find out what room you'll be assigned there ca...

What a find! Picked this one off of the internet a few months ago for girls' weekend. There were 4 of us in room 349. The room was HUGE and spotless. Everything had been refurbished. And, this hotel is in a perfect location. Jackson Square is 2 or 3 blocks one way, Canal St and the casino are a few blocks in the other direction, the might Mississippi is directly across the street, visible through the floor to ceiling windows in our room. And, the noise and crowds of Bourbon St. are a few blocks behing the hotel so it is QUIET at night. Easy walk to the trolley line for a shopping trip in the Garden District. Will ALWAYS stay here when I come to NOLA!

Stayed here for our 1st anniversary came back for our 10th and it was exactly as we had remembered plus a few upgrades! The location can't be beat, close to everything, Jackson Square/Cafe Du Monde is only 2 blocks away and even being in the middle of everything its very quiet at night. The hotel has been remodeled very nicely, the staff couldn't be more helpful with anything that we needed. The courtyard was a nice break when we needed to get away for a bit. For the price and quality you won't find better as we have stayed in 4 other hotels in the quarter. So once again job well done French Market Inn...see you in the fall!

We stayed at the French Market it for the first time this year. It is a perfect location for Jazzfest. It is located across the street from public parking and also a Jazzfest shuttle bus departure point. The rooms are great, we stayed in one facing the internal courtyard that had a small pool. As our room was not on Decatur there was no street noise at all. The Inn is a few blocks walk from everything you may want to see in the Quarter and not too far from other neighborhoods. The bathroom was clean, modern and bright. The only minor complaint was not much drawer/closet space for clothes.
