My wife and I stayed here for a week while I was on a business trip. The hotel had just finished a remodel and was looking great. We had been told that this was one of the most haunted hotels in New Orleans...no dice on actually seeing a ghost though. It's in a great location and though it may be on the pricey side it's well worth the visit.

Room Tip: Make a note that you have stayed at other French Quarter hotels and they may upgrade you to a nicer...

Stayed here for a week for a shirt vacation... We enjoyed staying at the hotel, which was really nice, the rooms were a little small but was probably spoilt after a couple weeks in a Houston hotel... Roof top pool was really nice and relaxing, spa was decent, carousel bar was enjoyable and the gereal location of the hotel couldn't have been better!

Parking was a little expensive at $30 per day and they charged $10 per day for Internet... So costs during the stay increase significantly...

All in, I would recommend this hotel to most people, but be prepared to part with a lot of cash, value for money is maybe not the best, but still a great vacation!!

First time in New Orleans. The Monteleone was perfect!
The rooms were very quiet, which is very important when you are only a block off of Burbon street. The hotel is old and historic, and the perfect location, everything is well within walking distance. Leave the car home intercity travel by car is a nightmare.
The rooms were spotless, and the staff Albee and Joey at the front desk could not be more helpful. every morning they would ask my plans for the day and always offer great advise they really made our trip great.

Dont worry about the construction it was a non issue. We would definatly stay there again.

Stayed here for four nights. I've given it 5 stars for everything as I really couldn't fault it. I had joined the Iprefer scheme fortunately so Internet was free and fast. And I was given a voucher for a free cocktail at the Carousel Bar, a great place! Service was excellent. Breakfast was great: a free continental breakfast while the restaurants are being renovated. But I don't take a cooked breakfast and there was a wonderful amount and variety of fruit, which I particularly like. The room was lovely, and will be hard to beat on my current trip of USA using 12 different hotels.

If you want to be centrally located in the French Quarter, Hotel Monteleone is your place. Convenient to everthing from the Riverwalk/Jackson Square to spots on Bourbon and shops on Royal. Hotel is very old school elegant, with the funky revolving Carousel bar providing a good setting for a late night apertif. The bar could use a bit of a facelift (duct tape was covering several rips on the black leatherette banquettes) but the other restaurant areas are in mid-renovation so the Carousel could be on the list. Speaking of renovation, as a favor to guests who were unable to eat in the hotel restaurants the hotel offered free continental breakfast. Nice perk but "free" created a cattle car type atmosphere, as people were lined up four deep waiting for tables in a tiny makeshift dining room. Also, they happened to choose a room that was directly above the renovation work, so drills and chainsaws were buzzing away loudly during breakfast. I'd skip the breakfast, or get it to go. Another small complaint was the hassle in retrieving a valet parked car. Waited for over 1/2 hour for the car and then as I was trying to drive out, I was totally blocked by a car the valet just left in the garage entrance. Had to wait another 10 minutes for them to undo the parking mess. I'd definitely opt to self park if I had to do it over again. All in all, the service at the hotel and the atmosphere is top notch. And did I mention the location?? Rooms were small but elegant and the beds were comfortable. Can't wait to stay there again when they finish the facelift.

This hotel proved to be a great choice for our one night stay in the french quarter -- the service was great and everything was clean. We ordered room service for dinner and it was very good!
Only drawback was that the room was very small -- but I think that's true for all the older hotels in the area.

Hosted a perspective customer from Argentina. Hotel stay was fantastic. Have stayed at the Monteleone four times in the last two years and never had any issues. In a normal year I spend 100 nights in a hotel and this hotel is in the top 5. Location is wonderful for access to Bourbon Street and restaurants along with shopping.
