I was visiting for a family wedding and business. Not only did the hotel do a perfect job of hosting the wedding party and events, the staff went the extra mile to make my stay a relaxing and pleasurable experience. The small touches are what separate good service from great and these guys know how to serve graciously. In an era where I find old world charm and attention to detail only rarely, this is the place I will be returning to find just that.

Room Tip: Try to get a corner room or one facing the river up high. Sunrise over the Mississippi is beautiful...

Just spent 2 nights in the Monteleone for an anniversary trip. This is a wonderful old hotel that has been very well updated. We were upgraded to a very nice suite with a river and city view, which was very spacious and elegant. The hotel and our room were immaculate and the service, from front door to bag check at the end of our stay, was excellent. The location is great, easy access to Bourbon St., Jackson Square, the streetcar on Canal and great restaurants. The hotel also has a very nice rooftop pool with great views of the city. Be sure to have a cocktail at the Carousel bar-very unique and fun!

Room Tip: Loved our river view room on the 10th floor-

Excellent Hotel in the French quarter. We loved the location. Staff were all wonderful. We highly recommend Hotel Monteleone! Beautiful building inside and out. The front door valets were so friendly and you felt like you were at home. The rooms were lovely and extremely clean. The roof top pool was lovely and great exercise facility.

This was our second visit to The Monteleone! Our first time was memorable which is why we
returned. The hotel is remarkable and the staff very accommodating and professional at all times.
Unfortunately, this time we had neighbors with small children and the parents left them unattended on numerous occasions without adult supervision. Due to the age of the hotel - the walls are plaster or cement and noise carries throughout so make sure you request a room that is not
next to any children which we will make sure we do the next time.

Room Tip: As noted above request a room that is not bordered by children. Also request a room that looks out...

Had a room on the 4th floor, hotel is in good location in French Quarter away from the noise of Bourbon Street, but within walking distance, great outdoor pool located on rooftop, we were here on a weekend so it is full on with people. Carousel Bar was a bit of a novelty, always busy with people. Would definitely come back to this hotel.

Room Tip: Some rooms don't have windows so make sure you ask.

I stayed here with my friend and our husbands on a recent trip to New Orleans. Her husband got a discount on the room through work, so it ended up being a great value. We enjoyed the rooftop pool, great location, and nice accommodations. However, our favorite part was the carousel bar in the lobby of the hotel! The drinks there are expensive but very nicely made and worth the seat at the rotating carousel bar-how unique! We will definitely be back.

Another note: I left a necklace and bracelet in the bathroom here, and realized it a week later (it wasn't very fancy- just sentimental). The housekeeping staff had saved it in the lost and found and were very gracious- mailing them to me the next day. Props to them!

We were here for a birthday celebration and all stayed at this hotel. The rooms are small and dated but clean and comfortable. Need to replace the box springs: I've slept on waterbeds with less movement. Great location just two blocks from the circus of Bourbon street, but still walking distance from all the French Quarter attractions.

The lobby is beautiful with marble and chandeliers with friendly bellmen and front desk staff.

Avoid the carousel bar unless it's very slow. Wait staff was unfriendly and the bartenders overwhelmed.

Room Tip: Consider a double; I think those may be larger than the kind bed rooms. Consider higher floors to av...
